JoeWolf1Cal’s 6’11” forward really helped himself out in the Clippers Pre-Draft camp this week. A pretty solid producer this season, 11 ppg 10.2 rpg, Solomon recorded a 36” standing vertical and a Miles Plumlee-eque 41” max vertical leap.
Richard ran a 3.3 second 3/4 court sprint, and despite being a rail, repped 185 fourteen times, showing that he does indeed have some strength ( He’s probably put on 20 lbs since high school ).
Solomon also measured a 7′ .75” wingspan and a bit of a head scratchingly low standing reach for someone with his measurements ( 8’7.5”). With a slim frame and limited offensive game, he doesn’t really stand out as a sure fire top 60 prospect, but I can’t help but think of Ryan Hollins when looking at him. Solomon also did produce at a double double level in a major conference, and with a summer birthday he’s young for a senior ( He’ll turn 22 on June 18th ).
An NBA team could take a chance on his length, speed and athletic ability in the 50-60 range. Again, my thoughts go straight to Ryan Hollins, who’s been in the leauge for a number of years now. At the very least he’ll get an invite on a SL team. I had seen him play a few times over the past 4 years, but I really wasn’t aware his athletic ability was at this level.

llperezHe was always a good athlete for a big and did a good job protecting the paint and rebounding. But he also is on the skinny side and never really showed flashes of taking over games despite being a double double guy. Maybe late second rounder IMO.

terrancebowerParticipantI think he could be a late second rounder or sign as an undrafted FA due to the lack of bigs in the draft.
I posted a thread about a month or two ago asking people why he wasn’t really considered a prospect, and noted his statistical improvements from year to year along with his physical tools. I got 0 responses but a bunch of neggs…figures…
