halfdecayedParticipantman this truly saddens me,, He was such a great addition to this Cavs team and was still playing at a solid level.. But what a way to go out, im happy for him even though I wanted him on the cavs next year.. Damn I loved me RJ in NJ with Kidd and Carter

tblazer_NZParticipantHe was a big surprise with how he played this year, a low key addition who contributed a lot.

Reptilian MonkParticipantJefferson still has game and could keep playing. He was huge in this series starting at times and throughout most of the season was a good backup Sf for Lebron.Major upgrade compared to Shawn Marion who played terrible last year.

theEDGEParticipantAfter coming close twice with the Nets without Carter he finally gets his ring.
Well deserved and the best way to say goodbye to the game.
Leaving on the highest note of all.
Congratulations to Jefferson.

CynthiaParticipantMan those RJ, Vince and Kidd days in New Jersey were some of my favourites.
A big congrats to RJ for winning a title, hate to see him go but you can’t argue on the timing. Most players can only ever dream of going out a champion.

HitsterParticipantNice to see RJ get a title, he made some good contributions to the Cavs this year and didn’t just ride the pine to get a title. I feel he could have gone another year but what better way to go out as a title winner, he turns 36 tomorrow so he might have set that as a time to finish by.
He was unlucky never to take an All Star game during his time at NJ as he had a couple of 22pg seasons and other seasons near 20ppg and this was with Vince Carter as the main scorer. Obviously RJ benefitted from having Kidd creating for him and prior to Carter going there was part of a couple of NJ teams with Kidd and K-Mart which went to the finals.
He will be a loss for the Cavs but they can offer his roster spot to another quality veteran looking for a title maybe Joe Johnson?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantJefferson actually played for gs in the 2012-13 season but barely got off the bench and his salary was essentially dumped on Utah in the offseason for nothing in return. Most people thought he was done at that time. Has to make winning a championship and playing a key role against the warriors that much sweeter.

theEDGEParticipantDidn’t the Jazz trade for him for Rush and Clark?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI believe so. It was basically just a salary dump because they were trying to clear up cap space to make a run at Dwight Howard in free agency.

ZachAttackParticipantNo… It was part of a huge trade that landed the Jazz a couple of GSW picks. That trade was how Iggy ended up in GSW and Randy Foye was sent to Denver. The Jazz landed RJ, Brandon Rush, Ian Clark, and Andris Biedrins in that trade.

daggers818ParticipantI look for him to end up on Luke Walton’s Laker coaching staff. They are great friends, and I see them all the time hanging out together. I think he’ll make a great coach if he wants to move in that direction, and I’d be thrilled to see him with the Lakers.
