BallinmvpParticipantAccording to Dave Mcmenamin of ESPN LA, the lakers are leaning towards staying out at pick 7 and really have a liking to smart, randle, Payton, amongst others.

Chilbert arenasParticipantPayton at 7 seems like a reach. Randle and Smart seem like the most obvious choices. I still think they should go with Lavine. Shoot for the stars!!!

Magic JordanParticipantRandle or Smart can both make an immediate impact. I am happy with either one though. I am leaving slightly towards Smart at this point though.
Either way keeping the pick is the right move.

aziatic41ParticipantSmart is the safest pick of the three at 7. He has the most superstar potential and the skill set to help them the most the fastest. He and Kobe would be a nice backcourt. Also you can’t go wrong with Randle either. He’ll be productive also because of his high motor and physical mentality.

mrhancocParticipantWould be like their highest pick since Kobe, they had better bank on it. IMO if they cant bring in another star to help this year I would trade Paul G. or future draft picks and maybe assets b/c Im not sure how much longer Kobe is going to be around, so why not get a head start on rebuilding quickly.

aziatic41ParticipantAm I the only one that thinks K.J. McDaniels is a bubble lottery pick ? Don’t understand how nbadraft.net has him going in the second round. As a 6’6 wing this guy can defend multiple positions and is probably the most athletic player in the draft with tremendous upside. I mean this guy was the Defensive Player of the Year in the ACC as a perimeter player. That is a great accomplishment. He also led Clemson in just about every statistical category. I see this guy being able to help any team instantly and especially on the defensive end where it is very hard to find lock-down perimeter defenders in this era of basketball in the NBA. Those type guys are valuable. Ex. Khawi Leonoard

FutureNBAGMParticipantPayton at #7 is a major stretch. My first choice would be Randle(if hes available) but like I said in an earlier post they should probably take the BPA since they only got like 3 or 4 guys under contract and they need help everywhere except shooting guard.
