If it’s so bad for stars to come together and play on the same team, why is it happening in every other league?

Look at the Yankees, they get a star player year after year. Dodgers? They do the same thing, Phillies aswell.

What about NFL? Back then, everybody wanted to join the Patriots, Steelers, and Colts.. Now it’s the Jets.

This is happening in every sport, we just have to get used to it happening in the NBA.

i no real problem with it and im sure most dont either and the tv ratings will show it everytime a heat game is on tv. or when each time they play on a opponets home floor the games are sold out with people either coming to be amazed with all the talent, cheering for them, or hopeing that they lose.

You can’t compare what happens in baseball and football to basketball, completely different sports and with different dynamics. You put two top five players and another top ten player on any team in baseball or football and surround them with role players neither team in baseball or football would win, or for that matter even be that competitive. I think you’re way off base comparing this situation to football or baseball. It’s not even close to the same argument, I would hope you understand how the NBA is a star driven league and how the situation with the Heat can’t be compared to any other sport. If you don’t see it this way then you really don’t know anything about sports.

its not like this is new.stars ont he same team. the lakers had cooper, magic, worthy, jabbar
boston had bird chief mchale etc
the bulls threepeat twice. its obvious that stars one one team is not a bad thing at all. how many people loved seeing the bulls dominate the nba?..everyone knew every year they were gonna be in the title game and probably win it and the only question was who were they gonna be playing against. in the history of the nba only a couple teams win the title yet peopel still come and watch. people like seeing amazing and dynasty. everyone knew uconn was gonna run over everyone but people wanted to watch (even people who dont watch womens basketball much) because they wanna see them dominate or lose. more people watch golf when tiger is dominating then when hes struggling or when hes not playing and its a more open field. how many people who are older still watch boxing?..now how many of those same people watched when mike tyson was killing everyone he faced?

    So Stanford

Why do you think people loved Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles but hate this Miami team? Shouldn’t fans be embracing them since this is a “superteam”

It kinda ruins future accolades to me for certain players. Lebron will never be looked at as the potential best player of All-Time now, because of all the talent Miami has around him for better or worse to him.

Chris Paul, Chris Bosh and whoever else now can win titles and don’t have to worry about being looked at in the same sense Lebron is, since they weren’t going to be the best players in history.

It’s great from an attendance, TV viewing, and merchandise/marketing standpoint, but for certain guys it can take hits to their legacy. Like it or not

Whio loves Boston other than Boston fans, Lakers other than Kobe fans and during Jordans era I can name a large numer of cities that hated him.

You really cant compare the NBA to the MLB or NFL, unclebuckshot said it, you put LeBron on any team they instantly win 50 games and make the playoffs with goofball players around him liek there was in Cleveland, you put albert Pulojs on any team in baseball and surround him with goofballs they dont improve really at all, same with Peyton in football. Its just a completely different sport. And stanford hoops, its not that people wont tune into to watch the games, im sure ratings will improve this year for atleast heat games to either see the heat dominate or to see them fail, you’re right on that one, and you’re right, we have seen teams with 2-3 superstars on one team and win 2-3 rings in a row, its just how LeBron did it with the whole hour special “The Decision” which is rubbing people and basketball fans the wrong way, and that may even be ESPN’s fault, but for the time being, LeBron is the NBA’s biggest villian.

I think the reason they are hated is for the way they conducted their business, not the fact that business was conducted. the numerous camera settings, media quotes, and prima donna plots where the reason they are hated.

to be honest alot of people didnt like the lakers and bulls and celtics. alot did but alot didnt.. but it doesnt matter which way you lean because the same people that hate them will be watching them hoping they will lose. being hated can be just as good as being loved in sports. i know many who hated the patriots but they watched because they wanted to see them lose. and many many many people hate the lakers but they all watch to root against them and hope they lose. when the lakers play in sports bars in utah its packed with jazz fans rooting for who ever the lakers are playing against being they want to see them lose. alot even buy shirts saying ” we hate lakers” or laker jersey’s with a big X on the front.

does it hurt some players legacy?..of course but do youre really think those players cared that much about?..if they did they wouldnt be going to a power team. alot of people get on players for not putting titles first or forget about the stars that never won titles and how selfish layers are for taking money over winning but i guess some fans say you should win the way that they want you to win or win with some restrictions

im a die hard laker fan but ill tell you this ( and every jazz fan i know says the same thing) when the heat come on tv i will be right in front of it watching.

And fans are embracing them by watching them play. they can say they hate this or that but yet there actions show other wise. some peopel say they hate certain violence and peopel scream out “DOWN WITH PORN’ yet people go to youtube and watch peopel get hurt or sick things and many many people go online or to a video store and watch porn. so dont go by what people say go by what they do and watch how many people say “this is soo bad for the nba and the nba is in ruins” but those same ones will be glued to there tv when the heat play

ohcanada is right… i just think that they way that they handled the situation especially with lebron doing the whole 1 hour special kinda rubbed people the wrong way… but like a lot of people said this reuined the legacy that many people thought lebron could have had… but something that i think about what about the legacy of dwade?? how does this effect his legacy or is it different because it is his team since he was there first? but for bosh i think that this was a win only situation considering that here in toronto he really wasn’t going to win anything big (sad to say being a raptor fan)… people shouldn’t really hate them though… all people do is say that they are only about money and when they decide to take less money and try to build a superteam people tell them that they are running from the competition… when in all honesty i think that they didn’t think about it that way when they signed… i think lebron, wade, and bosh looked at it more as that they finally get to play with players that are the same caliber as them since all of them have basically played with garbage the past few years…

another thing that i think people didn’t really didn’t take into affect is that by doing this they put a HUGE amount of pressure to win… not to just to win a championship but to win multiple championships in a row

well lets see. A basketball roster consists of only 15 players (unless your the warriors) A baseball roster of about 25 players, and football at just above 50. One player can make the difference in Basketball because they are competing against less people, and have more opportunities to stand out.

In baseball, and football the whole team has to chip in to win it all. That’s why teams like the Patriots dominated for so long, because they were one cohesive unit for a while.

“Look at the Yankees, they get a star player year after year.”

That would be why they are the most hated franchise in pro sports

You can only be a ALL TIME GREAT by being a leader, a warrior…a force of nature that says….”It’s me and MY team against the World…”…I honor and respect The Wizard of Westgate…John Wooden is the greatest Basketball mind in the world…He had 2 All Times greats…(Karrem and Walton…) and Those guys were always the best players on their team, they lead the way with their play and they would have thought twice about teaming up…Not when they were such huge Competitors…Lebron and others are showing their true colors…They’re trying to masquerade the fact they want win cheap rings and become legends over night…Wade is a Merc, Bosh is a ball rider and Lebron was the Real Ring Leader…

I disagree. You can be a leader on a stacked team. Who says you have to have to lead a team to the title with the least amount of good players on a team?
