Zeke33Participantthis guy is insane on the glass. I truly dont think that their is a better rebounder in the league. hes averaging like 16 a game right now. I think this guy is highly underrated even though he only contributes in the reb columb. I just wanna know what u all think of him. I think hes pretty damn valuable if he keeps this up

apb540ParticipantI watched him for his sixers years and he was awful man. Only hustle, no IQ or talent straight up.

dmo21ParticipantHe is definitely a beast on the boards. He isn’t that tell that it is just his physical gifts like other guys who get a lot of rebounds. He uses his strength, positioning, and just want for the ball to get there rebounds. He has no offensive game tho, sorry, but there is a reason Triano tells him to get it to the point guard after he grabs the offensive rebound instead of going up himself. I would say he has basketball IQ tho. He throws some nice passes and he knows what he can and cannot do on the court. He also rotates and plays good defense which I would attribute to his basketball IQ.

ilike.panochasParticipantThe guy is dirty, and when I say dirty, hes a dirty player and you love it when your on his team. Hes just one of those enforcers ala Charles Oakley who you love as a team mate but hate as an opponent.

TRC1991Participanthe is a very hungry rebounder but his talent level is rather low…he’s not going to outscore anyone but he has a niche in this league as a rebounder…unfortunately for toronto they aren’t good enough on the offensive end to allow for their PF to stick strictly to the boards

RUDEBOY_ParticipantSometimes these inflated Stats can be a mirage..
Evans rebounding total will go down to around 7 or 8 a game once other teams start gearing their defenses toward stopping him from getting to the boards with ease..But Evans have always been an agressive player thats what has kept him in the league for so long..

sammybuckeye13ParticipantBut Bargnani is by far the worst rebounder in the league per his size. 4.5 rebounds per game? Becoming the big man next Bargnani is like becoming the cleanup hitter behind chase Utley

MkadozaParticipantYeah, only in rebounds. He can’t block shots, he’s not a good defender, 0 offense in every facet. He’s a specialist that wouldnt get run if the Raps werent so desperate for boards.

Mr. 19134ParticipantWhen the Sixers traded for him Mo Cheeks said he was the best pure rebounder in the league. If you look at his stats he has always either lead the league or been top 3 in rebounds per 48.
Evans also does all the dirty for teams. He is one of the dirtiest players in the league even in practice. He was at his best on the Sixers when he was allowed to roam free and make plays on defense.
But when Ed Davis get’s healthy and starts showing promise and Evans is still getting minutes over him that’s when Raptors fans are going to get mad. I use to hate when we played him over Thad as a rookie.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI love this about NBA fans.. A guy has a good week or 2 and they are calling him a legit starter.. Yea, the guy can rebound but he is no better than Chuch Hayse.. He hustles and is strong as hell… Amir Johnson will eventually start over him.. Evnas has had games like this in the past and people have never made a huge deal about it.. The only reason he can rebound this way is because his C is a guy that doesnt try to grab boards.. He only rebounds when the ball comes his way.. That allows Evans to grab every board.. Put him on a real team and see him never hit the floor.

JoeWolf1He’s always had that kind of ability, he just hasn’t played those kind of minutes. He almost averaged 10 rpg in Seattle when he was in a simliar position, but only played 24 mpg. I doubt teams will ever have a game plan that involves stopping Reggie Evans on the boards though. He’ll average about 10 or 11 on the year and his minutes will go down when Ed Davis comes back from his injury and Amir has a monster contract so that will warrant him time too, but it’s been a hell of a run by Evans. I’m not going to diminish that, he is one dimensional, but he’s very good at what he does. Just because you’re one dimensional doesn’t mean you’re not talented, the dude can rebound and due to the fact there are so many face up power forwards who start and average 7 rpg there will be a spot in the league for Evans. There is a reason guys like him, Eddie House, Sean Bradley, and others have had long careers.

JoeWolf1Haha, Evans looks like Kimbo, but I was never surprised he made it to the NBA. He was a well known player in college for a good Iowa team. He was just always one of those guys with the undersized and limited athleticism knocks. But he could rebound, he came close to leading the NCAA in rebounding both his seasons. Jon Brockman in college actually reminded me a lot of Evans ( only with more athletic ability) I wouldn’t be surprised to see Brockman have a very similar career to Evans.
