    A lot of us have Reed Shepherd pretty high on our mocks but no-one I can recall has considered him for the Wizards at No 2. Is this because it would be too high or is it because Jordan Poole is seen as their long term PG or him and Reed just wouldn’t gel?

    It’s possible. It’s looking more like Sarr will be 2nd now though.

    I wouldn’t put Reed at 2 personally but just wondered why it was never mentioned as a possible fit or trade down really.

      I think it makes sense to get a big or a French player to pair with Coulibaly. Sarr is both and he refuses to workout with the Hawks. But yeah, Sheppard would be better than Poole, I can see it.

    Strange for someone to refuse to work out for the team with top pick. But Luka refused Memphis who were 2nd pick in 2018 didn’t he. Almost getting into Steve Francis territory here.

    Washington looks like they are building a team to fit around a heliocentric guy who isn’t there yet. I think in this draft Reed is worthy of that pick but Sarr makes more sense.

    Sarr is potentially the replacement they have yet to get for Porz and with them going to be a lottery team for another season or two in all likelihood I guess a 7ft plus guy with upside trumps an undersized shooter who might be a good playmaker.

    If a cerebral point guard with playmaking and shooting ability is what they want, I’d much rather see them draft Alex Sarr at 2 for long term potential, and Tyler Kolek at 26 as currently stated in the mock draft. Kolek reminds me of one of my favorite players (Luke Ridnour) and I think drafting Sarr and Kolek gives a blend of potential and stability in the same draft.

    Not sure why they’d draft a player with a seemingly shorter ceiling at 2 . I do think top picks should be swings for franchise talent as opposed to stability and Washington needs to take their swings even if they may be in similar draft range next year.
