So I was a little bored today and had a little brain wave on figuring out how good/bad some rebounders are in the NBA. I just did a small sample of selected players from 5 selected teams just to find some things out.

The things I figured out were: how many available rebounds there are per minute for each team (total rebound/total minutes), how many rebounds a player averages per minute (rebounds by player/minutes played by player), and rebounding efficiency (total available rebounds per minute/individual’s rebounds per minute).

Through this I found that Reggie Evans is a more efficient rebounder at 258.87% than Howard(209.00%), Love(231.46%), Humphries(224.01%), and Garnett(176.76%).

I also found out that Brook Lopez is not that bad of a rebounder as he has an efficiency of 101.15%, which means he slightly grabs more boards then there are available. Bargnani on the other hand is proven a bad rebounder as he has an efficiency of 87.29%.

I used these stats as it takes in how good/bad a teams/oppositions offense/defense is during that game as there will be more defensive rebounds available when you are a good defensive team but less available when they score on your team with ease. The per minute statistics also are more accurate because some players leave games injured or during blowouts.

I would like to know what you all think about these stats and results.
