Jdean24ParticipantI see a lot of these prospects compared too All Star players in these forums. My question is how many truly become All-stars in the league? I’m not asking how many have all star potential, or will make a single all star game. I’m talking franchise caliber players, let’s say top 20 players at some point, if your considered a top 20 player you should make several appearances in the all star game.
For me, it would be as follows:
Markelle Fultz – so smooth in almost all aspects of the game. Can score at will, good vision and very good rebounder for his position. Depending on who lands the #1 pick he could easily be the pick.
Josh Jackson – This kid is my favorite prospect in this class by far due too how competitive he is, his passion for the game is unmatched when he steps on the floor. Compared too Wiggins but too me it’s a lazy comp. Andrew Wiggins was a freak athletically, Jackson is no slouch but isn’t quite Wiggins in that respect. Both good defenders, Jackson is much better creator for himself and teammates. His overall basketball IQ is better as a freshman as well. He also has the Alapha mentality which is so vital if your gonna be your teams #1.

binetParticipantBased on style of play I think Dennis Smith has the most chances to be an all star. He also has the most chances to be a bust imo. That’s what makes him in the top 5 of almost every mock despite average showings so far and a major injury history.
Then, of course Markelle Fultz. He is by far the best prospect this year I think, he seems to have every tool, and his numbers and play did not disappoint. I think he is almost a sure bet all star given that many teams will do everything to build around him.
After them I would put Ball, Isaac, Giles, Jackson as likely all star if they develop correctly but their game or refinement right now makes it way less likely (Giles would be at higher odds if he had less injuries and there were less exciting young frontcourt players in the NBA though).
