Unless they get an offer of close to equal value, the clippers are NOT trading griffin for someone like Milsap, or Love; 1 for 1. (maybe a good package, not 1 for 1).  No gm (not named David Khan) would be that dumb. That is how you lose your job, and Rivers is no exception. I”m not saying there is no chance he is traded, but it is very unlikely they will get a close to equal offer to do so. You don’t give a way top 10 players.

That beign said, with Griffin, they WON’T beat GS, or the spurs (probably not even OKC) as presently constructed. Outside of their top 4 (Paul, Griffin, Jordan, and Reddick), they have some glaring holes need to be mended.

What are some REALISTIC (laker fans, cough) trades they can make?

I’m thinking trying to trade crawford for Korver.

And adding depth to their bench and bigs.

Other trades? It’s all about improving the "others".

Well I do think LA might consider shaking things up, not because the core 4 of Griffin, Paul, Jordan and Reddick aren’t good anough to win a title, the rest of their supporting cast is god awful. The only way you’re going to improve that is trading one of the 4.

Reddick: one of the 5 best shooters in the NBA, but his value on this team would never get matched since he’s still estentially a role player.

Griffin: He’s a top 10 player and unless you want to basically rebuild with young players and draft picks (which may never pan as you hope) you’ll be out of the title picture, which makes no sense when you have Paul in his 30’s.

Paul: Again, if you’re still trying to win a title, trading Paul makes no sense as you’ll be taking on young players and draft picks, which in 5 years is good but not for winning a title at the time.

Jordan: This is the guy I would consider trading. As great of a defensive player he is, he gives you nothing on offense except lobs (which is due mostly to the passing of Paul and Griffin) and tip ins. In crunch time he’s a liability with free throw shooting. You can’t post him up, all he does is take up space in the paint.

one trade i thought of was Jordan to Portland.

I’m not sure if this trade really makes LA better, but you get two solid young centers that do differnt things. Plumlee is a solid rebounder, runs the floor and block shots and Leonard is a big with 3 point range, opening up the offense and could develop with a leader and facilitator in Paul. Crabbe is a solid defender with a long wingspan and shoots the 3 ball pretty well. All of these guys are still young, and getting better. It frees up a lot of cap space, granted Leonard and Crabbe will both be restricted free agents after this year so that’s why I might not make the trade

Deandre for Olynk and Jae Crowder.

Deandre for Valanciunis and Demarre Carrol.

Deandre for Al Horford and Bazemore.

Deandre for Gortat and Otto Porter.

These are some intersting ones that I’ve heard. Who says no?
