Is there anyone who has been watching these that could tell me who has impressed thus far in training camp?  All I have heard is Landry Fields is rippin it up, Gilbert Arenas looks good (besides his interview), and I saw Lebron swat like 10 shots in practice….

    anyone?

it’s really hard to get a feel of who’s standing out..the vets play at a certain pace to avoid injuries..its the guys that have outside shots at making the team that extend alot of energy in these practices..the Grizzlies say journeyman Damien Wilkens have been their most impressive player in camp…Damon James is the talk of the Nets camp..After seeing him the Nets feel he could be the starting small forward by the AllStar break…

i watched part of the lakers and all of the wizards and knicks ones. FOr the lakers, i didnt see anything other some basic drills and running the offense with no one on defense just to get the rotations down. The only thing that kinda stood out is that artest was complimenting steve blake on knowing the offense and he said he had been going over it for a few weeks or he would be lost.

As for the knicks one, amare seemed to be really vocal and taking a leadership role. I honestly dont think fields did anything special but he seems to fit in and the coaches liked him. Anthony randolph had a broke jumper as usual.

FOr the wizards, arenas looks in great shape and wall was breaking ankles but both struggled shooting. Mcgee was catching lobs but struggled missing around the basket in traffic. Nick young was hot on the 3on 3 drills nailing jumpers but then went ice cold in the 5 on 5 throwing up some forced bricks. In fact almost every shot he took was forced, hes defenitely not lacking for confidence.

Javale McGee’s athletisism stood out, the fact that Wall is going to be a turnover machine and just doesnt look nba ready…it will probally take him a while to adapt and get undercontrol, Booker looks like a damn good player and should steal some minutes at PF maybe even at SF because while watching him I saw how well he can put the ball on the floor, Yi still hasnt adapted to North American ball, Blatche and Young are still very immature, and Al Thornton has lost 20 pounds and looks like he is ready to use all his talents for the best he was making some great basketball plays and honestly looked like the 2nd best player on the floor.

    But its just training camp.

I watched a little bit of the Lakers and Knicks, but didn’t watch enough for me to say who stood out.

I watched the Wizards one though, and Gilbert has really impressed me. He finally looks healthy. It takes at the mininum 18 months to be fully healthy from the knee injury that Gil had, and that suspension may have been a blessing in disguise because he got a lot of rest from it. He was playing last year when not fully healthy, and still put up good numbers. John Wall played reckless during the scrimmage. He showed his crazy speed but needs to know how to slow it down sometimes. I think he will lead the league in turnovers next season. All Javale showed me was his athleticism, and it’s great that he a great athlete, but he needs to show me something other than "running & jumping." Once he becomes good in the post, he will be on another level.

But like OhCanada said, it’s just training camp.
