SupParticipantAnd I will tell you why. Unlike Wade and Lebron, they can both shoot. Shooting wins ball games.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWade and Lebron can slash better
equal more free throw chances
plus more players in foul troubles
means going to backups more
equals more likely chance of winning

SupParticipantA freethrow for Lebron is a turnover

IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s unfair to say that until we see LeBron/Wade play, but I have my doubts about how good they’ll be together.
I see them both going off individually, but I just don’t think they compliment each other very well. Miami would’ve been better off pairing up Wade and Bosh, and then building a team around them.
Not only could Pierce/Allen shoot better, their games complimented one anothers better. Pierce could do it all and Allen is arguably the best in NBA history when it comes to moving without the ball and shooting.

sheltwon3ParticipantLebron and Wade would not fizzle in playoffs. Ray Allen did. Paul Pierce played like he was tired a lot of the games. Lebron has only really had one terrible playoff game. Wade seems to be pretty good in all his playoff games. The difference in Ray Allen/ Paul Pierce and Wade/Lebron is so huge with Wade/Lebron be ahead that I doubt shooting will be an issue. If Ray Allen and Paul Pierce was younger than this may actually be something I would have to think about but as is no way. I think people are trying to convince themselves that Lebron and Wade will not work out.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI thought Miami would of been better pairing up Wade and Bosh and building around them also. Especially since they could of been able to get more in a trade for Beasley. But it’s hard to fault a team for signing Lebron. Wade and James games are just so similar I don’t know how well they’re gonna compliment each other. The only way this works I think is if James plays alot of point guard and Wade and everybody else take a back seat and let him lead the team. I don’t see that happening tho. Wade is the clear leader of that group even more so because he is the reason they are in Miami. It’s gonna be interesting to see who gets the ball at the end of games. Shaq and Kobe were different because it was a big man and a wing man. The Heat have 2 wingmen.

Demarcus OnealParticipantLebron never fizzles in the playoffs?? and Allen and Pierce do they won a championship two years ago man
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 10:57am #406518

sheltwon3ParticipantBoston had a team. You guys are acting like it was only two people. Wade won a title with less help from his teammates. It did help that the refs were on his side but that is another story. You take both Allen and Pierce off Boston and add Lebron and they could still win that Finals.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAlthough better shooters, Bron and Wade are better drivers, better offensive rebounders, and better passers.

dahoodrecruiterParticipanti have to say bron and wade man …there slashing ablity just creates so mch foul problems for oppents team

billykParticipantLebron James and D Wade both are high IQ basketball players im sure they will find a way to exist… IMO Lebron and Wade compliment each other because I feel playing together they will be able to showcase other aspects of their games on ball defense, ability to move the ball and the ability to play with other players on their level… I also believe that Wade has one of the BEST mid range games in the NBA and although perception is Lebron cant shoot, I believe Lebron is one of the better shooting small fowards in the league..

IndianaBasketballParticipant"I believe Lebron is one of the better shooting small fowards in the league.."
OK… Now you’re taking being biased to a new level.

billykParticipantActually based on your alot of your post you seemed to have some issue against Lebron James…. Lebron James has a decent mid range game and shoots with range… How many small fowards shoot (close range, mid range, three points and with range) better than Lebron James?? When I say shooting I mean on all levels, im not saying he is an elite shooter, but people like youself act like he has NO ability to shoot the basketball..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 3:31pm #406614

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantLeBron is not a sound shooter. He’s streaky at best to be honest.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 3:35pm #406615

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron isn’t a poor shooter. He’s average. Being an average shooter doesn’t make him one of the better shooting small forwards in the league.
LeBron’s bread and butter is using his size, strength and athleticism to drive to the rim. IF LeBron were to listen to you and start thinking he’s one of the better shooting small forwards in baskeball, teams would be VERY happy.
I don’t have anything against LeBron or any other player. I watch basketball 24/7 and am just posting my opinion like you do.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 3:44pm #406619

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron supporters are so sensitive. They get upset when you’re honest.
Look at LeBron shoot the basketball. His form isn’t even all that good. His mid-range game is average at best. He’s mainly a long three-pointer or drive to the bucket. He’s an average free-throw shooter. He has range, but his three-pointer is streaky.
I’d grade LeBron a C as a shooter. C Mid-Range/In Between game. C- post game. A+ as a driver, finisher, playmaker and passer.

TooNice4TVParticipantPLEASE someone understand that Lebron is NOT a scorer. He’s the closest or maybe even surpassed Magic as a PG. (look at magic’s teammates compared to lebron before you start scorching me for saying this).
Lebron’s main position is the PG. I feel that if we see Lebron permanently shift to the PG full time, Wade and Bosh’s point averages will not go up dramatically, but their efficiency will go up dramatically.
His ball vision is better than Nash, Williams, Paul and so is his passing.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 3:51pm #406624

IndianaBasketballParticipantI highly disagree with that too. Just because LeBron had the ball in his hands a lot and averaged a ton of assists in Cleveland doesn’t mean he’s a point guard.
To even MUMBLE that he’s surpassed MAGIC JOHNSON as a point guard is literally absurd.
There’s so much more to being a point guard than handling the ball 90% of the time in a spread offense and picking up assists.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 3:54pm #406626

IndianaBasketballParticipantEven IF we declared LeBron a point guard, he wouldn’t even be the best in the NBA right now… So how in the world can he have surpassed Magic who is arguably the greatest point guard of ALL time?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 5:07pm #406651
billykParticipantReggie Miller didnt have great form and he was one of the greatest shooters of all time (im not saying Lebron is on Reggie Millers level)… I dont think Lebrons jumpshot is his main strength, but I feel that his ability to shoot the basketball is above average… I feel that although he is streaky he has shown the ability to shoot well enough to keep defenses honest.. Side Note: why is it when a person disagrees with another person they are considered "sensitive" or "a supporter" of a certain player….
0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/26/2010 - 6:58pm #406693

TooNice4TVParticipantHe isn’t a "scorer". He’s no Kobe, Durant, Wade, or Melo.
He’s a playmaker first and foremost. Please tell me who was on his team when they made it to the finals, and yeah I know they got swept, which is why I want you to name who was on his team.
If you surround Lebron with a Abdul Jabbar, and a James worthy, I’d take Lebron over Magic in a heartbeat.
I don’t think anyone realizes that Lebron going to the Heat is going to bring out the real type of player that he is. Bosh and Wade are the closest thing he’ll ever get in his career to the Worthy/Abdul-Jabbar.
I mean, isn’t it that much easier for a PG to have a damn top 5 total point scorer in the History of the NBA to pass to and score 5 ft away from the rim? Hell, let’s watch varaejao make plays for himself and see if he does anything for himself and that 7mil contract Lebron handed to him.
And please tell me that if Lebron was a pass first PG, who’d be better than him? Because it seems to me that he’s a top 3 scorer in the league the last few years, and he still racks up almost 8 assists and 7 boards. Take away 5-10 shots, give them to Wade/Bosh/Miller?Ilgauskas, and he’s easily getting 10 assists by the end of the 3rd quarter.
After all, Nash’s assists, all came from bombed three’s or 5 pick and rolls with Amar’e

PureshooterParticipantI’ve never heard "shooting wins ballgames". That sounds like an Allen Iverson quote from the late 90’s.

bobbybParticipantagreed, i feel that the Celtics get no respect. All they do is win games and succeed in playoffs. They took the champs to the max even without their starting center. The year before they got to the second round without their best player. On paper of course you would say Wade/ Lebron but it doest mean a better team. I have a hard time believing that Wade will be a spot up shooter or that lebron will run point.
