MagikKnickParticipantCeltics forward Rasheed Wallace is upset with what he believes is an epidemic of flopping in the NBA.
Wallace says he was duped into his fifth technical foul of the season by Raptors forward Hedo Turkoglu on Friday night.
“They’ve got to know that he’s a [darn] flopper. That’s all Turkododo do,” Wallace said after Boston beat Toronto. “Flopping shouldn’t get you nowhere. He acts like I shot him.
“That’s not basketball, man. That’s not defense. That’s garbage, what it is. I’m glad I don’t have too much of it left.”
Commissioner David Stern has complained about flopping in the past, but the NBA has struggled to try and curtail it.
“This game is watered down, watered down with all that flopping. They’re setting rules on us to the point where you’re taunting if you dunk on somebody. Paul [Pierce] dunked it and then he didn’t say nothing, but it’s a tech,” Wallace added.
Pierce was called for a technical after he dunked on Chris Bosh. Pierce hovered over Bosh as he remained on the ground, apparently injured.

SlimParticipanti tried to post this article but my computer was freezing up on me, but yeah
that’s how a LOT of guys get by on defense, but when I say the NBA is becoming watered down it’s blasphemy. NO Respect 🙁
oh well, the softer team lost so I’m happy, anybody know when Ricky Rubio is coming over? rofL

SlimParticipanti feel for sheed but I think he pissed off a lot of pro-flopping people when he said that,
as a side note a lot of players flop on offense (yelling/faking a foul) but no one seems to care

MagikKnickParticipantSo, what do you guys think..
Is flopping a great way to force a turnover?
Or is it an excuse for ‘soft’ players to not defend properly?

SlimParticipantwhatever it is it isn’t basketball, but don’t take Okeke’s word for it
“The circa-1970s instructional film features Red Auerbach going absolutely ballistic over the practice of flopping: “Now remember, coaches today, in high school, college and pro are teaching the players how to fall. This is unreal! … This segment is not aimed at referees, believe me. It’s aimed at coaches, it’s aimed at players. What are we going to do about it? Let’s clean this thing up. Let’s not hurt the game.”

A.I.to76ersParticipanti have no prob w/ players like pierce & iverson sellin da foul when they get contact on o. they teach u 2 to do that at a early age durin bball skill trainin. i do have a prob w/ floppin tho. floppin is pretendin. diff than “sellin” da foul imo.

quincey hodgesi have a problem with both. ive always been the type of player that just like to go hard and if i get knocked down its because you knowed me down not because i acted. not sure what highschool taught some of ya’ll but the coaches ive had hated the flopping or acting way. the only thing close was when they would tell me to take a charge. if we went by the back in the days stuff though we wouldnt have the cross overs or dunks and it would be a strictly fundamental game. bascially it would look alot like the wnba. i can deal with some of the time but paul does it so much that it irritates me
