So the Raptors are shopping their pick assumingly for some help in the back court. They have a huge gap at the 2 assuming they would like to move DeRozan to the 3 and gain some outside shooting. They have 12 million open in cap space and could be open to using all of it on the right deal. So try this.

8th pick & rights to Jonas Valanciunas – for – Eric Gordon (sign and trade)

Gordon is a restricted free agent who fits exactly what Toronto needs. I know the Raptors are very high on Valanciunas but a guy like Eric Gordon is extremely rare. For the Hornets, they need depth and Gordon supposedly doesn’t really like it in New Orleans in the first place. But it fills a gap at C and then gives them 2 picks to build the back court however they want. Any combination of Lamb, Rivers, Marshall, Lillard, Waiters, Ross, or even Beal if they get lucky. Plus, a Jonas and Davis front court will be and absolute force on both sides of the ball a few years down the road.

    Raptors lineup:

    C – Bargniani
    PF – Johnson/Davis
    SF – DeRozan
    SG – Gordon
    PG – Calderon

That looks like a playoff team in the east if everyone stays healthy.

    Hornets lineup:

    C – Valanciunas
    PF – Davis
    SF – Ariza
    SG – Beal/Lamb/Rivers/Waiters/Ross
    PG – Lillard/Marshall

They would still have veteran leadership in Okafor, Ariza, and Jack.

    What do you think? basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/221320/Raptors_Will_Consider_Trading_Draft_Pick

I think they could get a solid enough pick at 8. Trading Valanciunas with the pick just for Gordon might be top much

Besides Toronto not doing it, if Gordon doesn’t like it in New Orleans he won’t like Toronto.

They don’t need to start all 4 of them but I don’t see a problem with have 4 great rookie prospects. They still have Okafor and Jack to start. I don’t know how you can argue with that team being successful down the line. And Seamo15 clearly they’re shopping their pick in order to make a jump to playoff contention. Gordon, DeRozan, and Bargniani are all young and very very good pieces to build on.

Too high of a price for Gordon, some saying Jonas is a franchise centre, they could still grab Lamb,Waiters, P Jones-as a SF, or better yet anybody from the top 6 that unexpectadly drops. I’m hearing Golden State is locking in on Sullinger so thats good news.  Hope Lillard goes higher, wouldn’t pick him for Raps, duplication of Bayless.  Raps have money to get a mid level free agent too so they should be fielding a decent team that overperforms under Casey next year.

I actually think its a good situation for toronto. Lamb should be there at 8 and then they would be

    pg- calderon

    sg-lamb

    sf- derozon

    pf- barginani

c- valancius (however you spell that)

And the Raptors don’t need to make a trade they need talent in the draft .

Raptors needs a firepower and an offensive go to guy outside player to compliment Jonas Valančiūnas who is a future cornerstone for them, so what about drafting Austin Rivers and hope for the best, maybe he will pan out and then it’s a hit! i see them even trying him to become PG and see how it goes.

The Raptors have the alright lineup and maybe even better if steve nash comes in and so is New Orleans, all they need to do is draft Anthony Davis and Kendall Marshall
