So with the Raptors one of 4 remaining teams in the playoffs (for now), does it benefit them to take the best player available?

They could stand pat and select BPA @ #9 overall. They also hold the 27th pick.

Looking at their prospect cupboard right now they have Delon Wright, Bruno Caboclo, Norman Powell, Bebe Nogueira and Terrence Ross (still a work in progress thus the prospect tag)

With a solid roster and currently sitting as arguably the second best team in the east would they be any further ahead to package prospects and picks to either move up for a better prospect…

    or

Package prospects and picks for an established PF to help them get over the hump and become an elite team and legit contender faster?

All depends who’s available through trade, who is projected to be available when they select and lastly (possibly more importantly) whether Demar DeRozan re-signs in Toronto.

What would you do if you were Masai Ujiri?

I say let demar walk. He’s not worth the max; we can then try to pursue a guy like Horford this offseason who can seamlessly transition to the PF slot and be a major upgrade for our team. We have enough young guys to split time at the 2

I’d love to see Horford in Toronto but if you go after him in free agency who do you go after to play the 2?

Pipe dream (if you let Demar walk):

      Horford signs
Package TRoss, #9, #27, Wright for #4 and take Jamal Murray
      Re-sign Bismack

      Line-up / Bench

      PG – Lowry / Joseph
      SG – Murray / Powell
      SF – Carroll / Johnson
      PF – Horford / Patterson / Scola
      C – Valanciunas / Biyombo

Does letting Demar walk anger Lowry though?
They’ve built quite a strong bond this year…

That’s an unbelievably unathletic and slow frontcourt

Horford neither valanciunas are that slow or unathletic. There’s worse big men that start than those two
