I know there are stronger drafts then others but I wanted to know what you thought of who ranked where out of the top 2 picks the last 10 years from what you saw of them in college or heard about them. Note: Highschoolers and Euros are not on this list of top 20 since they really arent on TV. If a highschooler or Euro went 1st then I just went with the next pick or Chad Ford’s highest prospect available. THIS years draft is included

    the contestans are:

    2012 Anthony Davis

             Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

    2011 Kyrie Irving

             Derrick Williams

    2010 John Wall

             Evan Turner

    2009 Blake Griffin

           Hasheem Thabeet

    2008 Derrick Rose

            Michael Beasley

    2007 Greg Oden

             Kevin Durant

2006 LaMarcus Aldridge (Bargnani went 1st)

             Adam Morrison

    2005 Andrew Bogut

              Chris Paul

2004 Omeka Okafor (Dwight Howard went 1)

             Ben Gordon

    2003  Carmelo Anthony

              Chris Bosh

1- Anthony Davis – I think he is a better prospect then Oden. Oden defended the paint but Davis can defend the wing, better handle and shooter

2-Greg Oden- defended the post very good. hurt the wrist in college so he could have been 1

3-Carmelo Anthony- best fundamental college wing scorer Ive ever seen with the jab step, head fake, triple threat but wasnt uber athletic IMO

    4-Blake Griffin – uber athletic

    5-Kevin Durant-sick range

    6-Derrick Rose-fast

    7-Chris Paul-fast

    8-John Wall-fast

9-Evan Turner-was a sick college player the year he got drafted

10- Michael Beasley-gunner who reminded me of Glenn Robinson

11-LaMarcus Aldridge- had good offensive awareness scoring inpost which is rare in NCAA

    12-Andrew Bogut

    13-Adam Morrison

    14-Kyrie Irving-got hurt

    15-Emeka Okafor-big body college winner

16-Chris Bosh- I prefered Wade who obliterated Kentucky in the tourney but height does go early often

17-Ben Gordon-the scorer on the Okafor team but undersized

    18-Derrick Williams

    19-Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

20-Hasheem Thabeet-worse post scorer Ive ever seen

Coming out of HS and going into college, the top ranking duo on that list, without a doubt was the Oden/Durant Duo. There was a ton of hype for both of them and both proved worthy with solid one year college careers.

Really not sure what your trying to do. Or why your rankings seem to be all over the place

its not duos per year. The people to rank are from the last 10 years and you rank them how good you thought they were individually coming out of college

"Note: Highschoolers and Euros are not on this list of top 20 since they really arent on TV."

I’m almost certain LeBron’s high-school team was on T.V. more often than Syracuse (before the tourney) and Georgia Tech in 2003.

Ok, I’ll play this game, but it’s just what my opinion was at that time it’s a thread based on your old opinions…if HS or INT were involved of course my list would differ. And some of these players are still on trial, but I’m basing mine on how I would have ranked their impact coming out of college and going into the NBA…

Kevin Durant- dominating scoring and rebounding like Glenn Robinson did, but he was only a freshman.

Greg Oden- would have probably drafted him higher than Durant because he’s a legit center. I expected modern day Bill Russell. Too bad for his career, hope the knees get better from Germany operation.

Carmelo Anthony- took Syracuse on his shoulders. Amazing run.

Chris Paul- the eye test, I  liked him like Isaiah Thomas.

Derrick Rose- A freshman who dominated and was the best player in a solid draft. He was what OJ Mayo was supposed to be as a Jr in HS.

Anthony Davis- Best player in the country as a freshman who has the intangibles.

Michael Beasley- A lot of hype and a great Sr HS year and Fr college year, his mental side I just didn’t see coming like that. It’s something hard to judge a player’s mental state from TV sometimes.

LaMarcus Aldridge- He just did what a big is supposed to do so well and smoothly, as he still does.

Chris Bosh- A quick big with a jumper. Best Fr behind Carmelo that year but Carmelo was very special.

John Wall- Reminded me of Derrick Rose with more turnovers.

Blake Griffin- He’s a beast- but not D12 or Shaq, just didn’t see much moves. He’s actually quicker than I realized.

Andrew Bogut- big, very smart, and before these injuries he could really run the floor.(maybe he will next year)

Kyrie Irving- Didn’t see much of him, but what I did see was a great descision maker which is very important for a PG obviously.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist- Not 100% sure he’s going 2 but since he’s here, I believe he’s a starter in the NBA.

Derrick Williams- He could start someday and does sometimes, after Beasley’s impact, as a similar player  I thought he could still be good, but wasn’t completely sold. Still really early for him.

Emeka Okafor- a beast in college, but it was one of the weakest years i witnessed. ORL was correct to select D12.

Evan Turner- I think he’s just finding his game now, it’s hard to tell now, but thought he could start in the NBA somewhere. A solid college player. Little surprised he went 2.

Adam Morrison- I thought he could start somewhere but lacked defense. But his scoring was incredible in college as a lights out shooter. Guess I was wrong about him being a starter.lol

Ben Gordon- I wasn’t big on Gordon. He turned out better than I thought. A solid 2. I remembered like yesterday  him getting balled up by Chris Thomas (undrafted) twice in a row getting caught up more in the 1 on 1 battle between the 2. So I thought he was an undersized 2 guard forced to play PG that would just jack up shots and wasn’t impressed.

Hasheem Thabeet- ok I thought he could play better than he is- but he had no offense.

geezo-yes i have time on my hands obviously, i have a bad back. lol  but i had fun with this thread, that’s how i took it, hope it answers your question too.
