Kings- I like they have 3 nice pieces in Hawes,Thompson and Evans. That could be nice in 2-3 seasons.

Warriors- Scare me, they are so close of breaking out yet close to blowing up

Not really, In the West you need guidance and stability.

New Coach, New Gm and a PG would solidify for me. They have nice car but no engine to start it (PG)

Who’s the Knicks PG, I mean the Warriors have much more talent at every position than the Knicks. And you have the Knicks higher than them. The Kings also dont have a truly good PG, but they’re higher than Golden State. Alot of contradiction.

Golden State is a mystery team. Don Nelson can resign for all we know. Monta Ellis needs to show he’s a PG, they have like 10 wing players and 3 big men. If Nelson does not get it done this year with a playoff berth, I would not be surprise if he was fired next offseason.

The Knicks are deep and they are balanced. Yea, we are not the strongest team but in 2010 & 2011, they have a legit chance to add some superstar talents. Plus, they can make the playoffs this year because you have like 7 players in contract years and they will play hard.

The Kings have Tyreke Evans at PG now. I think he can hold it down. Plus the Kings have a solid balance as well.

Nelly is retiring after this year. he said once his contract is up hes leaving. as for ellis hee’s a SHOOTING guard. for the last time curry was picked to be the point guard. ellis at point was an experiment until curry dropped to 7.now hes the shooting guard.

1 Clippers(young talent, and I think Griffen could save this franchise)
2 Thunder(Also a young team, and Durant is doing wonders, could possibly top the Clips and have a great future before they do.)
3 Grizzlies(Mayo, and Gay are promising, then again they still have Conley, and Marc Gasol, and Hasheem Thabeet isn’t too promising, so they’ll be good but not for another 2 or 3 years)
4 Warriors(Talent, athleticism, but with Donnie Nelson leaving soon, who knows how well they will do in the future, and can they gel?)
5 Nets(The Harris,Lopez, and Lee trio should do wonders for this team, but they need to add a supporting cast as well. PF and SF, right now they have no one)
6 Knicks(Free agency looks good, and Chandler is doing, don’t know about Gallinari though, and they still haven’t resigned Lee, they need to keep him in order for their to look bright. Besides I’m a jazz fan so I’m hoping they do bad this year, so we get a good pick in the 2010, somewhere between 6-10 would be nice, maybe even higher.)
7 Kings(Tyreke is promising, but come 2010 he could be a shooting guard, if they draft Wall, but if they don’t improve soon Martin might leave!)
8 Bucks(Redd wants out, they still need a PF to have hopes of doing well, and Jennings needs to just make that team better. Maybe they could fill that PF spot up by trading Redd to the Jazz for Boozer, I’m just saying, then they could draft George, Ebanks, Warren, or Turner in the 2010 draft)
9 Twolves(I think Kahn is probably the worst GM ever. Possibly worst then Kevin McHale! Why would you draft two point guards in a row, and think they can work together? He should have drafted Flynn and Derozan, or Rubio and Derozan, or maybe Hill, their future does not look too good especially now that Rubio is staying with Joventut for another year or 2. But Harrington n’ Love are promising, and who knows Flynn could also help them. I do think he is right for their system, but if I were a T’wolves fan I wouldn’t be happy about giving away Miller and Foye for Rubio. Miller was a good shooter, and Foye is the best combo guard we have seen in the NBA and they got someone who won’t even come to the league for another year or two! Why did they that?)

you cant include the knicks they dont have any future stars(maybe galliorni) unless these rankings include free agents that these teams may get. i was thinking this was just the teams that have young good talent that they can build on like okc,sac,grizz etc. If you include the knicks then you have to include miami since they will have cap to add another star

Minnesota has 5 draft picks next year, they have ton of money to spend through free agency in 2010 too. Add that to Love, Jefferson, Gomes, Ellington, Flynn, & Rubio & things are looking good.

id have to kinda agree with gator on this one except for minnesota having all those picks since most of these teams that have been bad for awhile have had a bunch of picks for years yet they still arent that good which has to also do with who you draft (mccants,corey brewer etc) and im not sure many free agents want to play for minnie. i do like there young talent though

QHaynes- Yes I am a fan but still. Do you not see all that talent? How are they close to blowing up? The only expiring contracts are Randolph, Wright, & Morrow. The Warriors will have enough cash to resign all of them. Also the rest of the core is under contract for awhile. Putting this team behind the Kings & Bucks is just flat out nonsense & disrespectful lol. How in the world would you think the Kings or Bucks have a better future than the Warriors?

Like I said. Yea they have talent but I do not like the Coaching and Balance. That’s why I also dont think Randolph is the Most Improved player this year because when your Nelson’s bad side, it can be brutal (See Chris Webber). The Warriors have 8 wing players and like 4 big men..that’s no depth. If Don Nelson does not make the playoffs this year. 4 out of 5 seasons no playoffs. If he gets fired, you would have to find either a coach who runs his style of play or find a new coach which means new pieces.

I like the Kings. I think they may move to another city but with Evans, Casspi, Thompson and Hawes you have nice young pieces. Also, watch out for Sergio Rodriguez, he may get some PT this year. Plus, I like Paul Westpaul as HC.

The Bucks are another team who have unproven talent but have a boatload of cap in the next couple seasons and Brandon Jennings will lead the charge.

Plus this is not a next year question, it’s a 5-10 year question.

I agree that GS is close to breaking out and close to blowing up, but I do think the Bucks and the Kings have much,much less promising futures. It has nothing to with contracts for them blowing up, it has more to do with how well they will play together. If they play bad this year, Nelson will get fired and I dont know how they will mesh with a new coach. They are a unique team, it would be very hard to get all their guys to develop with PT with everybody on their team and also winning. I think they have the most amount of talent in quantity, but they could be a coaching move away from being back to square one.

Nocinoni and Garcia’s contracts are not bad, they aren’t great by any means.. It’s not like Beno who has a big contract and sucks.. Plus they’re only making in the 6mil area(Noc has 7.5 but drops next season)

The Kings will pay over 71 million dollars for 3 solid bench players over the next 4 seasons. Those aren’t even starters.

They will also play more than 15 million dollars this season to Kenny Thomas and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Yes they are expiring but they contribute nothing to the team.

Call me crazy Gatorheels, but I think Milwaukee has a solid future. They have a great coach in Skiles. They have a bunch of pieces to fit around Redd and Bogut. Jennings, Alexander, Mbah a Moute all show promise.

Thomas Abdur-Rahim are big-time expiring contracts. Thats more good than bad from what I can tell with a team building for the future.

And yeah when you add all the numbers together like that it sounds bad but as I said Noc(who actually is the starter) and Garcia’s contracts are not that bad. Combining there’s and Beno’s just makes it sounds bad. As I said Beno’s is the only really bad one.

I would say a knock off of about 1-2M a year is fair for Noc and Garcia. Then I’d say the contracts were fine, as it stands there a little pricey but nothing that should effect a hell of a lot. Beno’s on the other hand…..

Kings are in a position where they could make some trades. If I were them I would package one or two of those expiring contracts & try to get rid of Nocioni &or Garcia &or Udrih in the process. Kings have some options….they just need to wake up & start making moves.

Tyreke Evans is 6’6… Eric Gordon is 6’3.. You tell me who is undersized.

Rudy Gay is the real deal. But ‘Reke has potential to be a superstar and, although hard to compare since they play different positions, I think he can have a bigger impact on a team than Gay does. He’s a good humble kid who the more I watch interview/watch game footage the more I like how this guy is gonna be. The Wade comparisons might be a little hefty, but if I had to say right now how good I think he will be– Probably somewhere between Wade and Gay.

Thunder – So much young talent.

Nets – The Harris/Lopez combo is a great one, as they already have the two toughest positions cast. They have high hopes for T-Will and Courtney Lee was a great pickup.

Bucks – The Bucks are sneaky. They are playing at a solid pace despite all of their injuries. Yes they don’t have many exciting young players with long arms who can jump high like OKC or Minny, but they get the job done. This could be coach Skiles doing, sometimes a great coach means more to a team than a high draft pick. Don’t sleep on the Bucks.

T’Wolves – Sloppy, yes. However you can’t deny the talent. Players like Kevin Love and Al Jefferson are rare, and even though neither is flashy, both will score and rebound at a high rate. Jonny Flynn has the leadership qualities other teams on this list lack, and they have Rubio working on his game in Spain. Brewer showed flashes before getting hurt. I like the future of the T-Wolves.

Knicks – Coach Mike D’Antoni is going to win games. It is only a matter of time before the 2010 market hits and New York will get something. Maybe not LeBron, maybe not Wade but they will get somebody. Sessions, Gallinari, Chandler and Hill could gel into something. But best of all, Walsh doesn’t seem like a total moron.

Clippers – The Clippers have Eric Gordon and Blake Griffen… That’s it. All you Clipper fans should consider yourselves lucky if they don’t go down with injuries in the first few games of the season. If Jordon comes around he would form a downright dangerous combo with Griffen. Thornton is not a good fit with Gordon. They need to lose one of the two, if they want to win, but I don’t think they do.

Warriors – How far can the “Offense is the best defense”, philosophy get the Warriors? At the most an 8th seed and a first round exit. Randolph and Curry have to be the most overrated players on this website. They need a complete overhaul of their team. Ellis and Curry? Can somebody explain to me why this would work?

Kings – Kevin Martin, Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes. Not sure about any of these players. K-Mart needs to prove that he can play the whole season and everybody else needs to prove they can play. No veteren leadership (unless you count Nocioni) and a WHOLE lot of bad contracts. Future isn’t looking bright.

Grizzlies – OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay have talent, but they do not compliment each other well at all. Hasheem Thabeet and Marc Gasol make for a solid rotation at center, but Zach Randolph will clog up the inside, hurting the effectivness of Gasol. Conley has shown flashes but is very inconsistant. Marcus Williams is a team cancer. Young and Carroll however are solid rotation guys. The team is falling apart, managment does not show a commitment to winning, nor to their fans. However, I rank them last not because of a lack of talent, but the downright abysmal franchise history. Honestly if the Grizzlies ever want to make some noise then they need to restart from the ground up. That means new management, new coaches, new players, and a new direction.
