Has 2 be the third best point guard in college behind john wall and Evan turner Ive seen this kid play a few times he is the real deal at 6’0 Im suprised he isn’t ranked among the point guards let alone a late first round pick this year he has had monster games this season and here is his link to youtube

I brought him to this site. I feel good that other people are noticing him. I think he can play a Nate Robinson type role in the NBA, but he will need to show some basic PG skills (setting up the offense, drive and dish, pick and roll) in some draft camp to enhace his stock. He’s not at all a PG right now. Their PG is an interesting prospect in his own right named Julyan Stone. I’d take him in the 20’s though, he’s going to be a big threat for instant offense for some team, no doubt.

He’s also behind Kemba Walker on the PG list, nice talent tho and I can see him playing in the NBA.

Lodzio20 you said it best. it seems peopel are getting blinded by the scoring and dunks in conference usa and not thinking about how he is a sg not a pg. he plays pg because of his size not ability. i liek his game and think hes good but i would take alot of other player sin the first round over him. i would take him in the second round later though. there have been alot of other guards with his ability but taller in the draft before. i dont think hes as good as nate at all. the comp in the pac 10 and washingtons schedule when nate played was alot tougher then utep and the conference usa season. to be honest reynolds is a better scorer in a much much tougher conference while not being as athletic

Scottie Reynolds is not a better scorer than Culpepper. I can’t agree with that.

Culpepper doesn’t even play PG for UTEP. Julyan Stone is their PG and Christian Polk plays backup for them.

There are guards that provide what he does where? Who in this draft has his mix of slashing, athleticism, and shooting ability? As well as the ability to create their own shot like him? The only guy I got is James Anderson…

how you figure hes not a better scorer?..doesnt scoties score as much in a much better conference?…who will end up with more points for there career? and thats with scottie havgnt better players on his team to take up shots. when has randy shown hes a better score. look at what makes someone a better scorer and tell me where randy beats him in that catagory? and randy isnt a pg which is why i said he plays pg because of his size. he may not play it all the time but ive watched plenty of games where he has playd the point

lets not get conference usa mized up with big east and acc. some may say” well look at memphis guards that played in the past” well one they were much better then culpepper. 2 they played against much better out of conference comp

Well for one, Culpepper has had 9 games of 24 or more points this season to Reynolds 4. They average about the same amount of points (Reynolds by .4 more, 18.5 to 18.9).

Reynolds is a slightly better scorer statistically this season (.1 better FG%, .2 better 3pt %) but Culpepper is the more explosive pure scorer in my opinion, especially when projecting them as NBA prospects just from watching the two play. Reynolds is more consistent than Culpepper is when it comes to scoring, but Culpepper is a more explosive scorer than Reynolds IMO.
