Sharp ShooterParticipantI know we have a while until the draft, and stocks will rise and fall. I can’t help but wonder if Juilus Randle fell to the pistons would they take him. or will they take a gamble on a sf (Rodney Hood? Gary Harris? etc) IF they did take Randle it does make Smith more expendable, or if Monroe bolted to another team, it wouldn’t hurt as much. If Monroe and Smith both stayed, they have Randle as a six man, which could be beneficial .
What do you guys think would you take Randle….or Who should the pistons draft, or keep an eye on?

jwet33ParticipantWhat about James Young or Gary Harris?

jwet33ParticipantRight now, I have them selecting Marcus Smart with the 8th pick.

jwall1ParticipantI really cant see Randle being available if the Pistons have the 8th pick (especially if he keeps playing well in the tourny). Even if he did fall, they have Smith and Monroe, so I really dont see him fitting in that well. I feel they should nab Gary Harris if still available, he could help them right away and give them the shooting the desperately need.

OhCanada-ParticipantDetroit and namely Joe Dumars just keep on making the same mistake. They keep trying to recreate the championship team with Rip, Billups, Prince, Sheed and Big Ben by overpaying the best players available to them on the FA market. Gordon, Villanueva, Jennings, Smith…its just ridiculous. They have made a huge mess to the point where they may not even get a lotto pick. If they slip to 9th Charlotte gets the pick and at 8th they will likely select a high upside guy like Gordon or Lavine like they did with KCP or whoever slips like they did with Knight, Monroe and Drummond.

TRC1991ParticipantJulius Randle? So basically a clone of a guy they already are trying to get rid of? Makes a lot of sense…
This team needs a 2-guard. KCP’s not the guy. Gary Harris would be a great pick.

WolfRobParticipantSmith is expendable now, problem is they have no takers. Can’t believer Dumars has a job still. That Smith contract set back the team 3-5 years… He’s virtually untradeable and now they aren’t going to be able to resign Moose.

juves4783Participanti had recently thought kyle anderson would be a good fit there. play sf on defense, but bring the ball up so jennings can play more of a sg.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantThere is nothing stopping them from drafting him and trading him guys. You always take the BPA if your a bottom dweller like detroit

kazamParticipantTo me, there is too much time between now and the draft, hell even the lottery. The Pistons are likely going to replace Dumars, but when? They will probably replace their coach, but when? The uncertainty throws a huge monkey wrench in predicting any of their future moves.

OhCanada-ParticipantThey have to do what Toronto did. Fire Dumars and get a GM that can get any value out of Jennings and Smith while retaining cap space. The team will be better without them.
With that being said I doubt Randle is available but Detroit should gut the team and develop. I think a real PG would be a good idea. Smart or Ennis would fit in great with KCP, Monroe, Drummond. Anderson would also be an excellent fit on this team.

Tim49461ParticipantYou guys clearly are not watching every Pistons game. Jennings is more than good enough to handle the point. PEOPLE he has no shooters to pass to. He is the sole person in that line up that capable of knocking down a 3. You give Jennings a wing player to spread the floor and he is the PG you want in Detroit! Trust me!!!

Meditated StatesParticipantJennings is fine at pg. Needs a shooter at 2,3 spots to make him more effective.

CavFanPRParticipantRandle at #8 would be a major steal for the Pistons.

OhCanada-ParticipantJennings shoots 15 shots per game on 38 percent. Thats terrible no matter what excuse you give. He is overpaid and overused.

Malik-UniversalParticipanti would be for james young with tht 8th pick… he wont contribute now but hes loaded with potential.. hes got more size than KCP and can actually put the ball on the floor… KCP hasnt done anything all year
if greg monroe leaves and randle is still on the board… how do u not take him?? two very athletic big guys on the pistons front court?? ill take tht.. i highly doubt he will drop to 8
