whateverParticipantPeople is soooooooooo dumb thats why there is the clarification on what im basing statistics if u could take the time and check them u will notice rose is not top ten in any of the efficency stats, gasol is THE MOST EFFICIENT player in the nba. Orlando just came of a 4 game losing streak hurting Howards winning percentage coefficient but i guess numbers are not 4 everyone.

whateverParticipanti guess u would rather have a ranking like this one:
1. Stoudamire
2. Westbrook
3. Rose
4. James
5. Durant
6.Williams
7. Bryant
8. Nowitzki
9. Gasol
Recognize this? this is the top 10 players in pts plus rebs plus assists the kind of stats that people with no knowledge only take into consideration. Is not all about the volumes is also about winning and efficiency

joecheck88Participantnah man its an ok list. but rose and howard are probably 2 of the top 4 guys right now with amare and deron williams imo. but what makes dirks numbers better than amares. he has a better supporting cast. they both dont play much defense.
my list:
d rose
d williams
amare
d howard
russ westbrook
kobe
lebron
dirk
wade
cp3mostly in that order

joecheck88Participantexactly. gasol had a hot start(about 10 games) and i havent been impressed since. i know amare has a team that hasnt been in the playoffs for like 10 years in good shape. d howard is leading a great team with like 22, 12 and 2.5. deron williams is beasting a good utah team with many new players to a good record and alot of comebacks. d rose is leading a team that is basically the same one that made the 8 seed last year(meaning they havent had boozer) to a good record while getting 24, 4 and 8. i mean you have to look at expectations, stats, standings, and many other things.

bdoody42ParticipantHow is Rondo not in the top 10 of peoples list. He has the Celtics 2nd in win percentage in the league. He leads the league in assists by 3.5 a game. The a huge amount!!!! He is also 3rd in steals per game. he is shooting 53% from the field and almost 36% from 3 point line which is big improvment for him. He is also getting almost 5 rebounds a game. Not in peoples top ten thats a damn joke!

Meditated StatesParticipantIf Rondo played for any other team he would get his just do. Kind of crazy how good their team is and the best player on the team and quarterback gets very limited respect. It’s whatever though. What does he do right? Haters 4 real.

Im Your FatherParticipantFrankly I don’t think Rondo would be near as good if he played for any other team in the league. He fits the Celtics perfectly and he is an excellent point guard in that system and makes the players around him better, but I think he would struggle in a lot of other systems.

bdoody42Participant@ Im Your Father… What does that matter? He was drafted into this situation and is doing things no other point guards in the league and doing right now. I wasnt arguing he should be the MVP. He is not at that level… however give the guy some respect right now dont there are 10 players who have been more valueable to there team thus far. He is not the MVP but he has to be in the top 10!!!

You then got butt hurt and said im dumb and that i put too much value in stats and that i probably htink kevin love is the mvp. You are the one bringing up stats kid.

Ghost01ParticipantAnyone who uses PERs and efficiencies to determine award, DOES NOT watch basketball. Awards are never predicated on those stats. Its whose been most valuable to there team’s success, not whose been the most efficient:
1. Rose
2. Dirk
3. Deron
4. D12
5. Westbrook
I think its pretty easy to see this is the top 5 in some order.

llperez@ daneboy, fair enough, although it wasnt like kobe was really struggling and pau was carrying them. It was close early and now its clearly kobes team. But he is playing the least minutes since he was a teen and still getting it done. 24 points tonight in 24 minutes and took the 4th off. I just think people have such high expectations of him they are immune to his great play. But when other guys emmerge they get more credit becasue it stands out more.
