Aight, so I went to baylor’s page to see how perry jones is doing thus far and came away thinking bout one thing…Quincy Acy.  I was watchin video getting ready to see some Perry Jone highlights, and this guys feet are never on the damn floor.  He’s always playing above the rim and active it seems.  What do you guys think of him if u know of him.  His scout profile said he was a 3-star recruit in the class of 08.

He seems like a fun guy to watch and will put up alot of highlight level dunks in the future.  I know its early and the competition is less than inferior, but he just comes off the tape unlike anyone else in on the team at this point, including Perry Jones.

I only say this because Im a Hoosier but the way he plays is like a much more athletic DJ White. They look and play the same with Acy being twice as athletic and explosive.

Acy goes about 6’6 and definitely won’t be able to play SF, but he makes up for his lack of height somewhat with what appears to be around a 7’3 wingspan. His monster wingspan, and incredible motor, toughness, and explosiveness give him huge advantages on the floor and make him an impact player. He’s not very skilled and he lacks much shooting skills or the ability to operate farther than 8 ft from the rim in most instances, but you have to like what his length and athleticism allow him to do on the floor. He simply makes momentum swinging plays with his dunks and blocks. He also is capable of switching and guarding SF’s in some cases too.

I see him as more of a Ronny Turiaf type of player in the NBA, but you have to like Acy as an energy type player off the bench in the NBA. He should never be more than an end of the bench type, but he’s so tough and energetic that he’d be the ultimate fan favorite no matter what. Despite his lack of refinement and true talent offensively.

I think he gets a shot. He plays too hard and with that explosiveness and length he really plays more like 6’8. Jason Maxiell having had some good years helps him considerably.

like iggy said, his ath and arm span will compensate for his lack of height… he will never become a scorer in the nba most likely
