HitsterParticipantNo as far as I know you cannot as Tyrober points out, but teams can split an MLE I seem to recall although the new CBA effected how much teams over the cap can offer a player under MLE.

llperezim under the impression you do not qualify for a mid-level exception unless you are over the cap anyways.

aamir543ParticipantI think he’s reffering to a situation where a team is 2 mil under the cap, and wants to sign a guy for 7 mil per year by combining the 5 mil mle and the 2 mil cap space, but the answer is no, you can not.
