nath09ParticipantI know the Bucks Raptors series is not yet over; but has a team ever won a playoff series with 2 rookies starting? Especially in the modern day.

Magic JordanParticipantI’m inclined to say the first playoff series ever played after the first season would have technically been a game with all rookies.

SubZeroParticipantOh shoot, we’re going back to the first season ever? I’m not qualified to be in this conversation

cohenbc1Participant1989-90 Spurs. Admiral and Sean Elliot both started as rookies.

nath09ParticipantThank you, I forgot about Sean Elliott.

cohenbc1ParticipantAmazingly they also had two 2nd-year players starting: Rod Strickland, whom they acquired midseason in a swap with the Knicks for Maurice Cheeks, and Willie Anderson. Their only "vet" in the starting lineup was Terry Cummings. Larry Brown was their coach. I remember watching the second-round playoff series with Portland, that the Blazers won in 7 games. It was a nail-biter.

JoeWolf1Should be noted that the 87-88 Bulls started a rookie Scottie Pippen, and although a rookie Horace Grant came off the bench, he averaged 29.9 mpg in the playoffs. They beat the Cavs in the first round that year 3-2.

cohenbc1ParticipantThat’s a good one. I bet every basketball fan alive has seen the shot that won that series!
