TFCParticipantSeeing a few users are posting their mock draft already, so here’s my very provisional mock. I’ve added comparisons for the first round, a few of those might be interesting…

any feedback appreciated

Lotto StudParticipantI checked out the whole thing but for the most part I do not focus on the 2nd Round until around June to have a clear-cut view on guys.
Love the fact that you took the initiative to throw out comparisons. Ennis/Strickland is very original and I like it.
What stood out to me the most is… #5 Boston – Gordon & #24 Charlotte – Anderson. Could you please give insight on those 2 in particualar?

TFCParticipantThanks! I always like having some fun with the comparisons.
I think Aaron Gordon could be a high upside pick for a rebuilding Celtics team, and Brad Stevens’ defense could certainly use a versatile, athletic PF like Gordon.
Charlotte might want to try a different look at SF with MKG struggling, and Anderson would also give them a much needed secondary playmaker/ball-handler behind Kemba.

Lotto StudParticipantI will be stunned if Anderson drops past 18.

TFCParticipantYeah personally I like him at 15 to the Hawks, though it seems to me teams often favor upside and athleticism in the lottery that’s why I could see Anderson sliding a bit.

Skeating12345ParticipantI really like the Exum/Burks comparison. Best one I have seen for him.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantThere’s no such thing as a perfect comparison, but I feel like the comparisons were kind of bad imo. Stauskas is closer to Redick than Klay imo. All-in-all, nice mock, Anderson isn’t falling past 20.

imAboutDatActionParticipantReddick is 2 inches shorter whith a shorter wingspan.
Stuaskas and Klay have similar tools, which is why the comp is can work.

imAboutDatActionParticipantfor the ones that stoodout..
i like the Tobias Harris comparison for Jabari.
hate the Wiggins comparisons. the Corey Brewer comp. is just lazy.
like the Randle comp.
Smart may have some of the same flaws and strengths of a Dwade, but the athleticism is what seperates both and thats why i dont like that comp. Smart isnt the dynamic athlete Wade is.

Lotto StudParticipantI really believe you are underestimating Smart’s athleticism in comparison to Wade’s. Smart is above average athletically especially with his elite size. You may want to re-evaluate him if you have not seen the link above.

imAboutDatActionParticipanti never said Smart wasnt a good athlete,he’s just isnt on Wade’s level. Wade is an elite athlete, Smart isnt,he’s just a good one.

TFCParticipantWiggins comparison is a tricky one to do. I see a little bit of Corey Brewer with the athleticism, the transition play, the shaky ball handling and the tendency to leak out. I think Wiggins could be a similar type of player to Harrison Barnes, likely a better version but he lacks the ball-handling and creativity to justify comparisons to the likes of Paul George and Tracy McGrady imo.
As for Smart, I agree Wade is a better athlete and finish better at the rim but I do see some similarities between their games. Somewhere between D-Wade and Stuckey seemed pretty fair to me.
Thanks for the comment!

jwall1ParticipantGordon is too high IMO, and I really dont see the Bucks passing on Parker or Wiggins for Embiid (due to them having Sanders and Embiid’s injury).

TFCParticipantThe Bucks could certainly go for a wing, but I don’t think they’re particularly high on Sanders atm. If they feel Embiid is the BPA and his back proves to be healthy enough then I could see him going to Milwaukee. A Giannis-Henson-Embiid frontline would be pretty scary.

jwall1ParticipantTrue, the thing is they just signed Sanders last offseason and that contract is basically unmovable. If they could somehow get rid of Sanders, I feel Embiid would be a great pick.
