No reason to stay with stats like that in a conference that good…I haven’t seen him play yet, but I will watch them soon. Hope he’s NBA worthy!

I BROUGHT HIM TO THIS SITE!!!

He is someone who might not get drafted but a beast on the boards and could get shots off.

    Didn’t Dime have last week?
    ————-
The good news for PC is that the word is spreading on the skills of sophomore Jamine Peterson. For example, Dime Magazine is running a story entitled “Providence’s Human Highlight Reel.” The bad news? Premature NBA talk.

In the story, the interviewer asks Greedy if he’s thought about the pros. He says that he’s going to think about it, talk to his family and his coaches at the end of this season. Then he adds, “I won’t say I’m completely polished. I know I’ve still got a lot of things to work on, like ball handling and shooting and being more consistent.”

Davis said he “wouldn’t have a problem with any player of mine leaving early to go to the NBA if they are projected to be a first-round pick. That is money that would change your life.” But there is little to no buzz on Peterson among NBA scouts, even after some of his eye-popping Big East performances. Asked if he thinks Peterson is currently a pro prospect, Davis said, “No. Not yet. But he’s got a chance to be a pro. Greedy knows he’s got work to do on more parts of his game. The NBA will let you know when they think you’re ready.”

Ive only seen him play once this year and looked like he might be the most athletic player in the country. Reminds me a lot of wilson chandler at depaul but more of a banger. Hes only listed at 6-6 but he plays a lot bigger creates mismatches at 230 lbs. He looked very raw however and put the ball up just about everytime he got it. Just because of his athleticism and rebounding he would be a 2nd rounder but i think another year of solid production in the big east as a jr could push him into the 1st round in ’11.

(im new to the site but…)

I live in Providence, and I’ve seen him play quite a few times, kid is a beast, but if he stayed another year to work on his jumper, he would be a REAL beast and a sure top-20 pick. why risk not getting drafted when you can work on your game and make guarenteed money?
