Da1potParticipantWho do you feel is overrated as a prospect and won’t live up to their current projections in the mock? What prospects do you fell will be drafted lower than their current projection as well? Here are mine:
1. Semaj Christon- He is a solid player with good tools but he is a big time tweener at this point, who just doesn’t have the point guard skills that translate to the next level. He is a very poor man’s John Wall (no where near the kind of speed and overall athleticism either) at this point and I think that a better comparison for him is Tyshawn Taylor- who averaged somewhat similar stats to Christon during his last year in Kansas. He is currently 14th in the mock in a loaded draft and the 4th point guard behind Smart, LaVine and Exum. I see him going closer towards the end of the 1st round if he declares this season.
2. Andrew Harrison- Yes, I realize that he is no longer in the lottery and sitting at 24th, but he has been extremely disappointing so far. He only averages 3.5 assists on an absolutely loaded team while fouling 3.5 times in 28 minutes. He has a somewhat difficult time defending without fouling when he has elite size and length for his position. I have not seen him showcase any elite ballhandling skills. He is a notorious overdribbler and gets tunnel-vision just about every time he drives to the basket. There are a total of 10(!) point guards listed in the first round of hte mock right now and another in Jahii Carson who might go in the 1st round as well. Harrison has the most "potential" out of those outside of the top 3 for PGs, but I’m not really sure what makes him a starting-caliber NBA point guard besides his height and length at this point. He is a guy who I could see falling to the 2nd round if he declares- as there is always someone who falls farther than anticipated. It is difficult to come up with a solid comparison for him IMO.
3. Jerami Grant- Man, this guy is just about as raw as it gets. He is a small forward at the next level based on his tools I guess, but what can he do besides make layups and catch alley-oops? He is super skinny with a narrow frame and blocks only 0.8 shot per game despite his supreme leaping ability and 7’2 wingspan. He has yet to make a 3 pointer on the season (0.4 attempts per game) and offers virtually no presence on the perimeter whatsoever. He plays more like Jeremy Evans (who is finally getting some PT) than anybody IMO. A team will be very disappointed if they draft him 12th overall in a strong draft like this. He is another guy who will likely go in the 20s.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantAs a UK fan, I have watched every game this season (regrettably), and Andrew Harrison does not look like a PG at all. He seems like he is playing out of position. Him and his brother are the practically the same player, the only difference is the PG and SG beside their names.
I see no way they leave for the NBA, both are supposedly good students and their stock is horrible right now.
I think they could leave next year if they make a deep run in the tourney but they are 2 year players minimum in my opinion.

Skeating12345ParticipantI will probably get negged like crazy for this, but I am starting to think that Julius Randle is a little overrated. I just don’t see that All-Star potential people are raving about. He has solid size at about 6’9, and does have great strength. But he has average length, and while he’s a good athlete, I wouldn’t necessarily classify him as an "elite" athlete, like Wiggins or LaVine. Most of his points come from around the rim, most resulting from him just bullying other players in the paint, which won’t work in the league. He has almost no right hand, he doesn’t have much of a post game, and while his shooting mechanics are solid, he has shot extremely poor from outside of about 10 feet. I do believe Randle will be a very good NBA player, I just don’t really see him as being an All-Star.

Sewok15ParticipantNoah Vonleh is slightly overrated in my mind. I just haven’t had a great feeling about him although he came out of the gates very well at Indiana his two worst games were the games the Hoosiers lost. He had 0 points and 2 boards while only playing 10 minutes due to foul trouble against UConn. He did have 8 and 6 last night in their loss to Notre Dame but once again only played 21 minutes due to fouls.
I know the NCAA has been foul crazy to start the season and it will be less of a concern in the NBA. He hasn’t been the only freshmen in foul trouble this year either as Embiid had a big issue with it earlier this year. I just don’t see Vonleh as a top 10 quality pick right now until he puts up a big game against more quality competition. I would rather have Aaron Gordon, Montrez Harrell, Adrian Payne and maybe even Perry Ellis over Vonleh based on what I have seen this season.

BKGingerSnapParticipantHe’s a 1st rounder but I don’t think he’s a lottery pick. He’s good at everything but he doesn’t bring any elite skills to the table and he’s a little undersized at the 2 guard spot at the next level. He reminds me a lot of gerald henderson (bobcats).

machu46ParticipantRegarding Jerami Grant, everybody knows that he’s extremely raw. But I think he’s a face-up PF at the next level. He doesn’t have a 3 point shot in his arsenal, but he’s knocked down a number of mid-range jumpers throughout the year. He has the tools to be a great face-up PF. Elite athleticism, great frame to build off of (probably around 6’9" with a wingspan of over 7’2"), good ball-handler and passer for his size, and he just plays hard. He’s slowly becoming a better defender, but it’s still a work in progress for him with the zone. A little slow on his rotations still. And yeah, he doesn’t block a lot of shots, but he alters a TON of shots with his length. I wouldn’t take him in the lottery in this draft, but I’d be surprised if he isn’t in the top 20 by draft night, especially after how I expect he’ll test out at the combine. He needs to continue getting better though to show GMs that he can reach his potential if given the time.

TRC1991ParticipantAaron Gordon…the guy literally can not shoot the ball outside the paint, he’s a 6’8” 225 lb. power forward at the next level with elite athleticism but no jumper…Kenneth Faried’s twin
Which may not be a bad thing after all! If Gordon can accept that role, that is
