the problem with some of these people on this website is that too many people believe that these rookies will have a big impact on their teams. every year we see maybe 5 rookies signifigantly contribute. the rest take a few  years and alot dont even make it that long in the league. thats how i feel. just kind of annoying how a team from last place can all the sudden be considered a competitive playoff team cuzof a rookie

I dont exactly know what you mean..But you can understand why fans of the Clippers might be excited..Adding Blake Griffin a young Karl Malone clone that also have the defensive hustle of a young Ron Artest..With a solid group of vets like B Davis,Kaman & Gordon the Clippers have a good chance at making the playoffs..

John Wall’s Wizards have a chance to make some noise in the east..And possibly get that 8th seed..It mostly depends on which Gilbert Arenas shows up this year…

Cousins Kings might surprise some people..I dont think they’ll make the playoffs..

My problem with this site is that there’s rarely conversation about the actual skills of prospects. Honestly, I was on DX when their forums had great info, and if you want to be respected, not just liked for being funny and posting gif and what not, why not use more fact and really analyze the prospects? Their’s tremendous talent coming out and rarely do people say anything about them. And this is a draftsite. I’ll start it off soon with my scouting report on Josh Selby.

and Zeke, doesn’t everybody want their rookies to be good?  I’ve never heard somebody say "yeah, we drafted some guy.. but I hope he doesn’t pan out"

take that whinning B S to Draft Xpress if you don’t like it here…Douche Bag…

Now My Sixers had the # 2 Pick and a possible impact guy year 1…At the very least Turner can copy cat what Willie Green did here as a starter and bench player…I can Turner getting 10 ppg, 4 apg and 4 rpg,,,off the bench…that’s an impact in year one…Now I agree some people that say Griffin will be a monster in year 1 are pretty high…I mean he just broke a knee cap last year and he’s been injured before…I love Griffin’s talent but realisticly he’s no Karl Malone clone…he’s a Young Kenyon Martin right now and he can be better then K Mart ever was in a few seasons but comparring him to an all Time scorer and rebounder when he hasn’t palyed 1 regular season game is very premature…I don’t say Turner’s the next Roy or Penny because he’s on my team…I mean I like the kid but I’m reserving Judgement until every one plays 82 games…

Of course everyone wants their rookies to be good. but that doesnt mean we have to fool ourselves. and as for Babbitt I said he should be a top 15 pick when everyone was hating on him. I never said he would contribute right away. I jsut think he has the talent and potential to be a good player LATER in his career and his jumper and 3 pt shot will keep him around..i never said he will have an impact right away. Examples…everyone said how Lance Stephenson was going to be a Pacers starter this year and predicting he might be an allstar and now hes in the back of the rotation..or Corey Fisher scoring over 100 in streetball league?? he was hardly talked about and now people think hes a first round pick? Greivis Vazquez and Henry being bigtime sleepers this year and they almost didnt even get signed. All that talk about how great Ryan Richards would be blah blah blah. I want them to do just as well as anyone else but i think most people forget how long some of these rookies truly take to develope if they even adjust to the NBA style. and for those of u who mentioned Griffin, Cousins and Wall…i did say "every year we see maybe 5 rookies signifigantly contribute." You listed 3..

Yeah the Sixers may struggle this year…They have a ton of youth and new pieces like Turner,Hawes,Nocioni…but they’ll be very exiting and still be 1 good player away from stealing the Thunder from teams like the Thunder…they have youth and depth at nearly every position…They need one pure scorer in the starting lineup…They may have drafted Turner to ahve a Roy type impact on offense( I still see Roy when looking at Turner ) but he’ll take a year or 2 to get that level…I want a high pick this year so thank you for your hate….

The Sixers are my sleeper pick to make the play-offs. I just think last year was a very down year, and if their main pieces stay healthy, than I can see them competing for a spot, especially with the bottom of the East being as bad as it is (Like, from 7 down right now is up for grabs).

Oh yeah im sorry. I forgot how exciting Spencer Hawes and Nocioni are… The sixers have depth at every positon?? They start spencer Hawes at center and Tony Battie is their backup. Louis Williams failed to have the season everyone thought he would have last year and unless Jrue Holiday has a breakout year then Sixers might be one of the worste teams in the League. Elton Brand was an extreme disappointment last year as well. Even Thaddeous Young didnt break out like we thought he would. They did nothing to get better this off season other than drafting turner…but also losing Dalembert, AI and Green. your gunna sit here and tell all of us that the sixers can compete with the Thunder?? sober up. The Thunder nearly knocked off the Lakers last year and the sixers are not even in the Thunders division so i personally dont know wtf YOU are talking about.

John Bryant. If they were THAT good then they would have found a way to get it done much earlier than they did. I love Greivis Vazquez and Im glad they signed them…but they will NOT have a big impact this year…and if they would have one then the griz would have found a way to sign them earlier. I know it was about money. stop being so angry just cuz John Bryant isnt on a team

The Griz tried everything.. but if you knew your facts, once again.. you would have known that NO rookie wanted to play for Memphis, that’s why it took so long.  Not many big time prospects even attended their predraft workouts because nobody wants to play for Memphis.

Zeke, you say "they lose AI" as if AI was their All-Star and biggest star on that team. LMFAO, you make me laugh kid.

And yes the 76ers do have depth with bigs

    Speights: 8ppg, 4rpg

    Hawes: 10ppg, 6rpg

    Battie: 6ppg, 5rpg career

    Brand: 13ppg, 6rpg

    Young: 14ppg, 5rpg

    Songaila: 7ppg, 3rpg

That’s a combined 53ppg, 29rpg, last season for these guys.

    He averaged 14ppg, 4apg as a backup.

    Young averaged 14ppg, 5rpg as a backup.

What more do you want from backups?

He can get more points than Green could, and he defends as well as Green did…not to mention Turner can pass and rebound…He is top 5 in every stat for rookies although he struggled as so many claim…yeah he was not this can’t miss talent coming out… but he’ll be a solid 15 ppg scorer at the very least his whole career…that’s if busts,,,he doesn’t have the highest ceiling…I say he’s a Roy type scorer/passer in 3 years tops…he’ll float around 20ppg,5assist and 5rebs by then…his basement is viable 6th man for years…why are you hating on Turner, Zeke…???

He was a better all around player than 59 other players drafted…Name 3 rookies better than Turner and do not say Blake Griffin…this may be His "Rookie" season but he was drafted last year and has palyed the same number of regular season games as Evan Turner…

And please people if Griffin gets hurt 20 games out and misses a few months can we call him Kenyon Martin 2 and stop with the Malone comparrisons…I’d be offended if I was the Mail Man…It took him 20 years to be Karl Malone and Griffin gets called Malone 2.0 without playing a NBA game…SMH

Can I call Turner Penny 2.0 because no other 2G prospect in the alst 10 years has had is combo of offensive skill, passing and rebounding ability in a 6’7 frame…without a Little Penny commercial or actual NBA game under his belt???

The Grizzlies front office was being very stubborn about offering Henry and Vasquez incentive deals which is un heard of for NBA rookies. While every 1st rounder with the exception of 1 player in the past 450 rookies did not have to meet certain criteria to get the last 30% of their maximum, that is what they were offering to Henry and Vasquez.  It was an unfair deal, and the players rightfully held out to get a fair contract based on their peers and players chosen before them.

It didn’t have anything to do with their talent, nor their projected impact.  It was just a poor decision by the Grizzlies front office, and the two rookies called their bluff.

I’d be suprised if Zac and OJ resign there when their contracts are up…I would almost bet on the Grizzles trading one or the other very soon…I’d trade Randolph, He’s a 20 and 10 expiring contract…That has got to get you something on the block…I can only think of a few teams with The Need for a PF( Pacers ) and maybe the Contending Spurs would be able to use a guy like Zac next to Duncan…but I can’t see them keeping ZAc…he’ll want big money and the Team ahs to bet on him getting fat and lazy when they pay him…

Yeah, Z-Bo is a wildcard for sure. He had a great season last year and it makes you wonder if he’s put his maturity issues behind him or if he gets a big contract thrown at him he’ll revert back to his old ways.

I think they’ll work harder signing O.J. too, and unless Conley has a big year this season I doubt he’ll be back.  I think the Grizzlies will have an improved year, but I agree, I think their team next season will be drastically different.

I’m not into the whole "I got paid so I’m a fall back and chill now" and guys like Zac randolph are guys that fall into that list of players I would never sign…to think The Grizzles could have Beasley for 3 times cheaper…They could have gotten Beasley and Let Zac go in trade…I also wasn’t high on them Signing Gay to that huge deal…Could have had a Cheaper and Morew talented Team if they draft Evans instead of Thabeet…Gay could have been let go in a sign and Trade over the Summer…they could have brought back a player or two from the Knicks…

I know this has nothing to do with your topic, and I hate doing this believe me, but I really need one more person for my fantasy league. I am kind of hoping scarecrow would step up to the challenge, but I will really take anyone who wants to play in good, competitive league. It takes very little effort to do well, just make sure all of your players play and you can set up your rosters far in advance. Leave your e-mail or holler at me at [email protected].

John Bryant… ur an idiot. I say they lose AI as in they lose a starting PG who is better than Lou Williams for sure.  and maybe Jrue Holliday (i have hope for Jrue to breakout). I didnt say it as in losing an allstar. but Thad young was expected to explode last year and he didnt. The sixers dont have the pieces. if you cant see that then you truly do not know basketball. Just because they have 6 or 7 bigmen doesnt mean they have depth…they are not effective enough to make that much of an impact. My vision of depth means they can contribute and help when they are in the game. Songalia and Battie?? The only big u mentioned off the bench thats even semi good is Speights. Young isnt exactly a big. but i guess u might wanna try him at a dif position after the disappointing year he had

John Bryant… ur an idiot. I say they lose AI as in they lose a starting PG who is better than Lou Williams for sure.  and maybe Jrue Holliday (i have hope for Jrue to breakout).
