aarondsonixfanParticipantAlright, if the playoffs started today here’s how the playoffs look
West
Spurs vs Jazz
Thunder vs Mavs
Lakers vs Nuggets
Clippers vs Grizzlies
East
Bulls vs Sixers
Heat vs Knicks
Pacers vs Magic
Celtics vs Hawks
Ok what are your predictions? What matchup will be the most exciting? Which team has the best chance at an upset?
For me, both games for the 2-7 series will be really fun to watch. The mavericks knocked the thunder out at the Western Conference Finals, and they meet again in the first round (again, if playoffs happened today). The Thunder have them beat in the regular season series 3-1, but after watching Dirk go crazy last year, who knows what will happen.
Same for the Miami and Knicks series. Even though Miami won 3-0 in the regular season, I think that this will be an entertaining matchup. Melo vs Lebron, Amare vs. Bosh, It’s awesome to see great players go against each other.
As far as the team who has the best chance at an upset, even though it’s in a 4-5 series, I truly believe that the Memphis Grizzlies will beat out the clippers. Their team is really talented and has a lot of depth. It would be nice to see another San Antonio vs Memphis playoff rematch as well.
My predictions are: SA in 6, Thunder in 6, Lakers in 5, Memphis in 7; Bulls in 5, Miami in 6, Indiana in 5, Celtics in 7
Those are my predictions, what are yours?

Cosbysweater7ParticipantSpurs over Jazz 4-0- Jazz are a nice young team but not ready yet. I think they lose a couple of close games at home. (completely different team on the road 11-22)
Thunder over Mavs 4-2- Mavericks dont have the players to make a run at repeating. Their main goal this year was to clear some cap space to make a run at Deron Williams this offseason
Lakers over Nuggets 4-2- With the probable suspension of Metta World Peace for this series, I think the Nuggets can win a couple of home games, but the size of the Lakers with Bynum and Gasol is too much for the Nuggets handle.
Grizzlies over Clippers 4-3- Besides the Heat and Knicks, I think this will be the most entertaining series. Memphis has a more balanced team with better chemistry. Also, the Clippers are going to have to have someone else besides Chris Paul step-up in the last 5 minutes of the game. Griffin has disappeared a lot this year down the stretch of games.
Bulls over 76ers 4-1- I think the 76ers lack of a closer and 1-9 record in games decided by 4 points or less, will hurt them in this series, but take one game at home.
Heat over Knicks 4-2- The matchup I am most looking forward to. Melo vs. LeBron. While the Knicks are playing good basketball right now, Im still not sure if Amare and Melos’ game will compliment each other enough to pull off the upset.
Pacers over Magic 4-1- A lot of people are picking a sweep for Indiana but I think Orlando will take one game strictly by making a ton of 3’s.
Celtics over Hawks 4-2- The Celtics are my sleeper in the playoffs to make a run at the NBA Finals. Doc has rested is veterans and they’re ready to make one last run at a title. The thing I dont like about Atlanta is that Josh Smith takes alot of bad outside jumpshots. I think Boston clearly has an advantage at the PG (Rondo and Teague) and SF (Pierce and Marvin Williams) matchup in this series.

Bird_YearsParticipantDoes anybody predict an upset other than the 4-5 seeds? Even if you don’t think it will happen, which 6, 7 or 8 seed has the best chance of knocking off a 1, 2 or 3?
I give Dallas the best odds, especially if Harden is unable to play well and Dirk does a 2011 playoffs repeat performance

Cosbysweater7ParticipantOut of the 6,7,8 seeds I think Dallas then New York has the best chance. The Magic and #8 seeds have no chance IMO especially without Howard. Nuggets might make an interesting series with the Lakers but I think they will still fall short.

M-DYMESParticipantI think Bulls v. Sixers is going to be a closer matchup than people give the Sixers credit for. If there was any team in the East I wanted to be matched up with as a Sixers fan outside of the Magic, it was the Bulls.
The Bulls are a great team, but they are similar to the Sixers in a sense. Without knowing how healthy Rose will be, the Bulls are a great defensive team with a deep bench. Similar to the Sixers if Rose is not ready to dominante (big stretch that he’s not though imo). They would lack a true go-to scorer.
I think Holiday can handle defending a wounded Rose and can use his size offensively, he will be a huge X factor. If Young and Turner play their best ball, Philly can pull a potential upset imo. Doug Collins will get the best out of this team in the playoffs. I’m not by any means predicting an upset, but I think the series will be alot closer than most people predict.

Yes, if Derrick Rose doesn’t play, they are similar. Problem is, hes going to be playing.

M-DYMESParticipantBut is he going to be healthy is the question. Consider that FvckSwag666. While he still will be a great player, he may be limited early on and Holiday is the type of PG that can take advantage of that.
