valentine1st – Philadelphia (4 wins)
No-one tanks better than Philly. Other teams can try, but experience matters. A lock for the 25% Golden Ben Simmons ticket. The benchmark for other tanking teams to aspire to. Note for newbies to the tanking scene…..Start losing big as early as possible, as it takes all the pressure off later in the season. The season ticket holders will forgive you….right?
2nd – New Orleans (11 wins)
Picked up a crucial L against the Lakers. It’s almost like they’ve told Anthony Davis to act hurt so they don’t look suspect when he’s racking up DNP’s, because every time you turn on the Pelicans game’s he’s wincing in pain. Expect him to spend plenty of time in street clothes. New Orleans simply NEEDS to get a second All-Star…or even the highly professional Brow will start rumblings about demanding a trade.
3rd – Celtics (10 wins by way of Brooklyn)
Outsourcing their tankjob to a team that has no real motivation to win..but just enough professional pride to lose out to the likes of Philly. Would be higher, but Brooklyn has no incentive to lose against other tankers….which should add a few wins down the stretch.
4th – Lakers (9 wins)
Did someone forget to send Lou Williams the memo? If he doesn’t start shooting sub 40%, he could be the victim of a drive-by shooting from Big Worm. If Byron Scott doesn’t find a way to get him out of this hot streak, his job could be on the line.
According to a recent poll of nbadraft.net users, common belief is that they’ll get the top pick regardless.
5th – Phoenix (13 wins)
Anything but a textbook tank-job. Their implosion came about 6 wins too late. Extra points for the speed in which it all fell down, but probably not soon enough to finish with a bottom 3 record.
Thoughts? Anyone else looking to join the party? Keep in mind the 6th-8th worst teams still have a decent chance at landing a top-3 pick.

mgreener_34ParticipantT-wolves. They play hard, but their head coach is easily the worst in the NBA. They have lost 7 strait games, which is sad, because they have a decent roster. I just don’t understand how a team with so much young, middling, and veteran talent on it be so bad and inconsistent. That’s why I think they are tanking all out this year.

sweaterflexParticipantMitchell, might be bad, but Byron Scott would like a word with you.

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantThey play hard, but I swear watching them on offense they have no idea what the plan is and they ignore Towns. On defense, teams just run pick and rolls over and over until they decide if they want the layup or the wide open three. The Timberwolves will be in the top five lottery percentages when all is said and done. Hopefully that’s enough to end the Sam Mitchell era.

Jr. ROXASParticipantI hope Ingram goes to the Pels. PERFECT fit. And they’ve been searching for a solid 3 for like 3 years now lmao. You know the wing situation is bad when you have a PF starting at the 3.

ballislyfe25ParticipantThe Lakers are killin’ me. Hopefully we can raise Lou Williams value enough to entice a contender for an asset (2nd round pick or player with an expiring deal?) and lose enough to remain with the second worst record. If I were the Lakers I’d try giving him to the essentially Nets for free.

Mr.JoshuaParticipantAlong these same lines, Pelicans should trade Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon to the Nets for Joe Johnson.
All expiring contracts, money balances out and both teams benefit.
