blackflash234ParticipantI wanted to compile a list of potential 2010 slam dunk contestants. I dunno if Dwight or Nate will go next year but LeBron says he’s gonna participate. Let’s see if he backs up what he says. Here’s a list of potential participants..

td8118ParticipantWatch Joe Alexander clips, He is a freak….Westbrook too would be a sick participant hes such a sick athlete
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:28pm #213264
McWinningParticipantGereld Green and Jamario Moon too could make it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:33pm #213267
LazarusMunozParticipantdid that injury take away his explosiveness?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:33pm #213268
blackflash234ParticipantBut there’s a good chance he doesn’t play in the NBA next season. Probably D-league or Europe if it comes to that.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:34pm #213270
blackflash234ParticipantI unno if he’s still capable of doing windmills off the glass but I’ll add him.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:34pm #213271
LazarusMunozParticipantif someone signs him
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:39pm #213273
KevinDurantRocksParticipantA dwight howard Nate Robinson rematch just no superman to predictable
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:44pm #213277

IndianaBasketballParticipantJoe Alexander should’ve made it last year. His bounce is more than sick… It’s damn near Swine Flu lol.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:49pm #213280

thunderforthewinParticipanti heard a rumour that lebron is gonna compete
i dont know if theres any truth behind that though0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:50pm #213281
blackflash234ParticipantJoe Alexander should’ve been the one in the dunk off. The man touched his nose on the rim. How many guys do you know that can do something like that. I respect Westbrook’s and Fernandez’s dunking ability but Alexander got robbed. Who knows what kind of dunk he had in stored. Now we have to wait another year.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:55pm #213283
QHaynes20lol…damn near swine flu
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:55pm #213284

CameronCrazieParticipantAnybody think Gerald Henderson would be a contender.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 3:58pm #213286

IndianaBasketballParticipantAlexander head butted the rim during a pre-draft workout last summer… His bunnies aren’t normal lol.
As much as I love Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson, I think it’s time for them to watch. The whole superman and kryptonate theme has gotten old.
I’d like to see:
LeBron James
James White
Joe Alexander
Mike Taylor – He literally COULD BE pound for pound the best dunker in the NBA. Before the Clippers waived him, I heard the dunk contests between him, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin during workouts were something epic lol.
DeMar DeRozan0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:05pm #213287
blackflash234ParticipantBlake Griffin
Eric Gordon
Al Thornton
Mike Taylor
DeAndre JordanDamn I wish I were their teammates. Despite all the losing they go through, practice and workouts must be EPIC!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:08pm #213288
ball4life66ParticipantNo one wants to see josh smith?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:14pm #213289
blackflash234ParticipantDoes anyone else agree with me that they need more veterans in these dunk contest and they need more than just 4 guys competing? Imagine if Vince Carter came back in the dunk contest next year. That would be epic and there would be nuff ratings because everyone will look to see if he’s still got it. In case if anyone’s still wondering if Vince’s still got it..
In case if anyone missed it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6KFbflROEk
WOW!! 32 Years old and still doing that!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:20pm #213293

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhy is it so hard for big men, other than Howard recently, to win? Look at that list. There are 2 bigs on it. Blake and Pops.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:25pm #213297

JNixonParticipantBill Walker isnt as freakish as he was when he was a junior in HS, but he still is an explosive leaper. But I think Terrence Williams should be a participant….he’s a nice looking dunker no ones talking about.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:26pm #213298
blackflash234ParticipantThe reason why it’s so hard for bigs to win the dunk contest is because they aren’t really that creative and when they do become creative, it looks to easy. They need to take their creativity to the next level like Dwight did last year when he brought out “Superman” and that video game type dunk.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:28pm #213301

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI really liked how he raised the goal. The only thing was, I think he could have at least windmilled on the 12 foot rim or somethin. He just looked like it was nothing, like you said.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:37pm #213307
FT33ParticipantIf they were to name a rookie to participate in the slam dunk contest, he should do it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 4:42pm #213311

R-Dot-13Participantjames white is a freak .
0 - Posted on: Thu, 09/17/2009 - 9:44pm #213386

esperanzafleet69Participanttruely dissapointing watching fernandez get smoked with crap dunks last year…..
joe alexander should have made it, one of the most freakish leapers ive ever seen
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 3:55am #213410
bujubantonParticipantI have feeling their going to use three nba players and fourth will be a from like team flight brothers just to do something new with the dunk contest. They want the contest to be epic and these guys James White, Lebron James, Dwight Howard will do things that will be talked about for ages. Also, before the sprite slam dunk contest their going to have a contest between the top dunkers from the summer circuit and one of them should participate in the contest, hopefully it’s mr. 720 or guy dupay.

Anton123ParticipantI don’t think James White should compete, a dunk contest participant should at least play 5 minuites a game lol
Joe Alexander fifnshing last in the votes was veery disapointing…
Blake Griffin ain’t an NBA level dunk contest participant
J-Rich won two already0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 5:47am #213448

Toronto16ParticipantYou guys really think Lebron is going to the dunk off? That would be good if he did. I would love to see a young rook like DeRozan step in and beat him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 5:52am #213449

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDoes anyone remember Lebron’s high school dunk contest?? He didnt do anything except jump really high and he won.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 5:59am #213450
quincey hodgesjames white would win it hands down in my opinion…he can and has taken off from inbetween the freethrow line and the top of the key..also windmill from free throw line…hes been doing that since he was in highschool back in maryland( used to watch there team play we produce ballers) he also has done it in the dunk contest over in turkey when he was playing over there

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantjames white should definitely be in it, but i highly doubt that getting people who aren’t in the nba thing, and i also wouldn’t want to see it, they are not in the nba,
my dunk contest for next year should be james white, lebron james, joe alexander, and the rookie vote getter, who would probably be out of blake griffin, demar derozan, terrence williams, and gerald henderson, even though little guys like jonny flynn and brandon jennings have rise.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 6:09am #213453
quincey hodgesjames white is in the nba..hes with the houston rockest..was with them last year also…oh damn i forgot about brandon jennings..he has some sick dunks and hes small so it makes it look even better
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 7:05am #213470

The8thDeadlySinParticipantActually, as of right now, JWhite is a FA. He hasnt resigned with the Rockets and has no other teams looking at him. I think I would sign him if I had some cap space just because of his athletic ability, he could become a role player like Dahntay Jones.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 7:06am #213472

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantno last year he signed a two year deal, so he’s definitely in the nba.
and i was talking bout they were talking about the flight brothers and and 1 players
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 7:09am #213475
quincey hodgesyeah they was just talking about him being signed and in there plans on the radio the other day…i actually wouldnt mind seeing some ad1 or flight brothers particapate.. what i would love to see is college allstars play against the olympic team like they did with the dream team 2 vs duncan and the other colleges guys back in the day

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHere is my source. If you scrole to the bottom of the screen to the “W” you will see that he currently has no contract.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantIDK if its my computer or your link, but it took me to a blank page. But, I believe you.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 7:42am #213491

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantyea that link doesn’t work byt the8thdeadlysin if you look by his name it says rfa, restricted free agent.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 7:50am #213492

llperezAccording to hoopshype.com, White has a fully gauranteed deal with the rockets for the next 2 seasons. He’ll make 825,000 this year and a little over a million in 2010-11.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 8:28am #213496

JoeWolf1Julian Wright has the dunking ability to compete. He is a great athlete and has good dunking creativity. He’s not just a good game dunker, although he has done 360’s and pretty crazy tomahawks in games, he has good timing and is 6’8” with a 40 plus inch vert.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/18/2009 - 11:24am #213546

JNixonParticipant8thdeadlysin is right lol….Lebron won that McDonalds game and JR Giddens, Von Wafer and Shannon Brown all had better more creative dunks and lost to Lebron. It was because the judges were amazed at how he was eye level at the rim.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/19/2009 - 3:50am #213735
cashmherecfParticipantJuilian Wright would be cool to see in the dunk contest. Especially so those who havent seen him can see his athletic ability
0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/19/2009 - 4:38am #213744

R-Dot-13ParticipantMike Taylor has some good dunks too.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/19/2009 - 1:46pm #213940

Mr. BasketballParticipantits not about having a contract, its about playing. if white gets barely any minutes, he won’t be in it. however, the rockets look like they will have a down year so maybe he’ll get minutes. i’m hoping that it will be white, taylor, griffin, and lebron but i doubt it happens bcuz white and taylor will be hard pressed to get attention.
