 I was thinking what separated the greats from the all time greats. It’s a post up game. For eaxamples Tracy McGrady was phyically and likely atheltically more gifted then Kobe. However he sheid away from posting for his whole carreer and never advanced that part of his game like Kobe did.

Lebron was criticized for a long time given that he is bigger stronger and more athletically gifted then everyone he is facing, but didn’t post up. That was the only major hole in his game other then once being an inconsistent shooter. Once he did he started posting is when he became truly unstoppable. Because in the past when ever he faced Carmelo I would always have my money on Melo outplaying him because he was the complete package offensely.

Kevin Durant is offensively elite. He is one of a kind with that handle, shooting ability and height for a legit SF. However, still doesn’t really post up. That is the reason why in my opinion he won’t win a ring unless it’s a complete team unless it’s a complete team effort.  He can be contain on the premeter. However, he does have pretty damn good team even with the young promising guys like Adams and lamb.

Yeah I definitely feel Durant needs to develop a post-up game to stop guys like Tony Allen bothering his dribble on the perimeter.

He needs to continue to gain weight for that and really work on it, I think like Lebron he needs to play off the ball a bit more like he used to before Brooks tried to make him Lebron once Harden left.

It’s great that he can pass and dribble and whatever, but his movement off the ball has suffered some because he’s thinking that he’ll just create with the ball in his hands wherever he catches it, instead of thinking about where he catches it as much.

Where did you see T-Mac not posting up?  Yea I would agree that he didn’t utlize his post up game, but it was there and he could score from it…  

Durant’s issue is lower body rather than actual weight…  He’s 6-10 with a long wingspan…  Tony Allen or Chris Paul shouldn’t be able to lock him up in the post…  I don’t really want to see him gain weight as much as I want to see him get stronger…  KD (unlike LeBron) can score in a variety of ways and doesn’t need a dominating post up game…  LeBron for instance isn’t a gifted scorer and for majority of his career didn’t have an inbetween game…  He needed to develop a low post game because his game is dictated on power than finesse…  He spent so much energy on driving in from the 3pt line and didn’t get easy shots…   That’s why people like Charles Barkley said he need a post up game.
