I created this topic because you wrote to me with an intelligent post and I wanted to make sure you saw my response. I have aspergers a form of autism as I have previously mentioned and yes I do tend to take things very literally, my high importance of what I say isnt that its more of a counterbalance if you call me an idiot, I will respond by not only showing you why I am not an idiot but I will try my best to make a logical cohesive argument showing you why your argument was flawed. the area between debate and discussion is overlapping and often gray. I am not making a sincere effort to alienate people, I just tend to have unfortunately a talent for that- I dont relate well to people. when I made that comment I was thinking about how different things could have been. for instance if indiana didnt make that horrible trade  reggie miller and micheal jordan could have been teammates, and maybe charles barkley and scottie pippen could have been teammates. I was thinking about clyde drexler and micheal jordan being teammates. I have not found the what-if factor explored enough. I would like to be cool with everyone as well and their are plenty of people here I like and respect, which is why I have stayed around. I think the line about  metaphors and similes you used is pretty cool like poetry, I can appreciate that. I did not mean to say sam bowie was a villan I was using that as an analogy and where he was selected is the only thing I was referring too. I did really like the movie illusion and it reminded me of the bowie- jordan situation because its about making the best decisions in life and having a chance to do it over. I am not an idiot your right except when it comes to communicating with people, but if you respect my intellect than I will respect yours. thank you for the butler input and I appreciate the level of intelligence associated with that comment. no one wants to be hated or completely misunderstood, but for some of us that is far easier than others. if  someone reads this post other than mikeyv and doesnt get it I apologize but it wasnt meant for you and mikey I appreciate your trying to understand yes I   do think differently but no that does not make me dumb.

I know that man, and I am very much trying to understand you, at the same time hoping you understand us. I get that you are not trying to alienate people, but thus far in many facets you have.

The reason someone called you a "Troll" earlier was due to you posting something on the board that was not really a basketball topic. Than, you made an explanation to that topic, and finally, this post directed to me. I appreciate you writing me, and I was not trying to put you down, I am trying to help.

Believe me, I relate movies to life all of the time, I have never seen "Illusions", but I looked it up after you posted it last night. Looks like an interesting movie, I even suggest you watch Ikiru, which seems to be a movie in the same vein and one of my favorites. Still, the "bowie knife" line was not exactly a topic we were really going to respond to, unless you also had some more commentary on why you were posting it in the first place, hopefully related to basketball.

Still man, while we are not a board that takes every initial thread (or start of a new post) on the main board super seriously, it is nice to have a little more substance to it. I am glad you liked the poetry, it is Talib Kweli from a song with KRS-One called "The Perfect Beat" (it is not perfect, but it has some great lines).

On the other hand, the "what-if" factor is one I think is found WAY too often on here. That being said, people actually respond to it very positively. They love the hypothetical and "what-if" scenario, and if you did have posts with some more substance, they would be responded to really well.

Also, try spacing out your paragraphs. This might be the pot calling the kettle black, but I was told this often enough I started doing it. On the main board, unless you are always messing with the font, it is usually in small print and it is difficult to read long posts without some spacing in between.

But, I do not feel I ever argued that you were an idiot, and if you do feel that way, I apologize. I think if you did indeed read what I wrote, it is that you are NOT an idiot, and I meant it. But, you have at times been difficult to understand, and I was trying to show you a different outlet for you to display your basketball analysis. You are entitled to respect and agree with anyone you want, but I was always adamantly against your notion that positive points meant negative contributions due to popularity. I also believe that negative points do not necessarily mean you have always had negative contributions, I think points are fairly meaningless but a decent way to know how some respond to you. Not everyone uses them wisely, and some may just look at your total and click one way or the other, but I see a good reason for having them.

I think you probably have gotten many of your negative points due to being misunderstood, and have gotten even more recently for what was conceived as you putting others down. You did highlight a good point, that points do not mean everything and their are some solid posters with negatives, but you putting those with positive points down was not really something needed. 

I am glad you told me everything you have, about the Aspergers and about your intent. I am very much trying to understand you, and I hope you try to understand where I have been coming from as well. When referring to people on this board as not having an intellect or not understanding something, it really hits me and others the wrong way. I know for a fact many posters on here are very intelligent and are coming from a good place. 

As literally as you tend to take things though, some of us do that as well. It is sometimes hard to sense sarcasm over the internet. But, know when I have been talking to you, it has not been to put you down, but to help you rise up. I want you to do better, and I think everyone else does too. We are constantly improving man, and if I get constructive criticism, I try to use it. One thing you should remember is that you should give people the same respect you yourself would hope for. 

Thank you for helping us try to understand you that much better. You definitely can feel free to do that, but I hope you focus much more on basketball than you have been. Yes, people here have a variety of interests, but I for one like main board topics to be more basketball related than a few of yours have been. Also, when a message of yours is responded too on a certain topic, respond to it on that topic. No one needs to see their name or post called out in a separate thread. I am glad you responded to me, but it all could have been kept on your initial "Life is like Sam Bowie" thread. Not saying you can not make new topics when you come up with new ideas, but just giving some advice that I hope you find helpful. All the best man, and again, thank you for the reply.

 I have been clinicaly diagnosed by a psychologist, I know being an ashwole  should be a diagnosed medicalt condition  but until it is some people are just going to have to wait. Thank you guys (if you are being serious), I really like writing and I bet I have written a novels worth on here. If you think my posts are 1000 words, some are easily twice that many. Just really love basketball, love writing about it and try to get as much detail and evidence into my posts to make them as credible as possible.

aspergers is a form of autism, it does not give people the right to act violently towards people and that person may have other issues to deal with, personally I try to stay away from people as much as I can. people with aspergers are more likely to be the victims of crimes than the cause of them.shipargos  if youve been paying attention mostly I am being attacked and insulted and I have the audactiy to defend myself. im jus so    unless you think you have the talent to go to the next level if I were you I would be much more worried about mental defects. also Im jus so offended I never asked for anything nor wanted anything besides the fact to understand I may think a little differently , you can ask for diversity only when its convienet or you personally gain something from it that doesnt work and shouldnt. and lastly  lofty   the person you posted a pic of is significantly more accomplished than you will ever be he is a very successful actor.

Why not just learn more about Asperger’s syndrome rather than basing it on two cases, one of which does indeed sound awful. 13kavak is not swinging on your mom, and if you read his post, I do not at all think he has a crush on me, he was just trying to help people understand where he was coming from. OFWGKTA is all good and everything, I have no idea who Wolf Haley is, or am I going to say you have a man crush on Tyler the Creator (oh, did I just say that? kidding though man), and I know 13kavak said some things that definitely provoked and prodded a lot of us, but I think he is trying to let us know where he was coming from. I think he does want to be a good contributor to this site, and just flat out talk basketball with us.

So, I do not find what you or TOL were doing to be overly helpful, and I expect more from you guys. You are both smart posters as well, and have had your beefs and call outs that I feel you have handled the wrong way, which is by making a separate thread so as to bring attention to yourselves. 

I have no idea if 13kavak is as articulate as Temple Grandin, but Temple wrote books and articles, plus she is a great public speaker. But, I for one think this was a message to one person that did not have to be on the public board, but maybe he felt I would not see it otherwise. Who knows, but I do not think you guys really helped the situation, and it just provided proof of how stupid points can be some of the time. All the best to you guys too, but I urge you to do your research and maybe understand something in which you both seem to have little understanding about.

I hope this is a post that hopefully stops a string of a lot of other posts. In other words, lets talk more about basketball, and maybe less about ripping on people outside of the realm of basketball. I used to straight up hate non-basketball related posts (or posts that I felt were lacking research or insight), but sometimes they do get some good things out there.

13kavak, glad we are on the same page man, at least I hope we are. Lets give some much deserved second chances here and hope everything works out to our usual awesome basketball board with awesome regulars and awesome new posters that tend to bring different things to the table. 13kavak, all of these guys are cool if you give them a chance. 

Also, guys, I know you obviously got sick of 13kavak and his posts or opinions, but as I said, we all deserve a second chance. it took my ex girlfriend emailing me an autism test and my own natural curiousity to catch the diagnosis, after that I went to see a psychologist to get an official diagnosis. it is kind of hard to diagnose.
