i was reading on hoopsworld that houston’s carl landry was available for trade… i feel that he would be a great fit for the blazers at their back-up pf spot… he is a tough defender and rebounder, and has a decent post game… how about webster/outlaw for landry… houston needs some outside scoring ability from the wing, as their team seems to be mostly power foward and point guard… both outlaw and webster can provide scoring punch from the outside…

what do you think about this trade idea? i’m not sure what houston would want/need right now because their team is so oddly built because of the injuries to yao and mcgrady…

3 way deal (you know who in here) NY, HOU, Portland

NY gets Rudy Fernandez, Tracy McGrady and Kyle Lowry

Portland gets Cash, Carl Landry and Wilson Chandler

Houston gets Eddy Curry, Travis Outlaw, Martell Webster, Chris Duhon and a 2010 2nd round pick (Portland)

i’m not sure if portland does that… rudy fernandez is almost untouchble in kp’s mind… even for a player as talented as chandler… also, giving outlaw and webster for landry is too much… plus, portland would no longer have any depth on the wings…

#1 The Rockets will not take on salary for the 2010-11 season. They want to sign a star like Chris Bosh. Eddy Curry is a big no-no.
#2 Nobody is off limits but I just can’t see Aaron Brooks or Carl Landry being traded.

I have a trade proposal that won’t be so skewed against the Rockets goals and will give the Blazers (and maybe some other teams) what they want.

Houston Gets: Jerryd Bayless, Rudy Fernandez, Nicolas Batum, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and New York’s 2010 First round pick (owned by Utah)
Houston Trades: Kyle Lowry, Shane Battier, Luis Scola, and Brent Barry

Portland Gets: Kyle Lowry, Shane Battier, Luis Scola and Cleveland’s 2010 First Round Pick (Lottery protected)
Portland Trades: Jerryd Bayless, Rudy Fernandez and Nicolas Batum

Utah Gets: James White (essentially save all of Boozer’s salary for a minimum player)
Utah Trades: Carlos Boozer and New York’s 2010 First Round Pick

      Cleveland Gets: Carlos Boozer
Cleveland Trades: Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Cleveland’s 2010 First Round Pick (Lottery protected)

The money works out I tried it on the NBA trade checker
      http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lkendu

This entire trade relies on Utah’s willingness to pay someone a draft pick to take all of Boozer’s salary.

The Rockets would then spin Ilgauskas to a contending team for crappy players with expiring contracts and a draft pick or 2.

Rockets would then have an exciting young team that would lose a ton of games and get a high lottery pick next year. Then they would lose their expiring contracts (TMac/Brent Barry/Brian Cook) and allow them to sign a superstar (Chris Bosh) and pair him with a returning Yao Ming in the 2010-2011 season. Add in a probable top 5 draft pick(or 2 depending on the Knicks pick) to a team full of shooters, elite guys in the post and you have the makings of a championship team.

As a Houston Fan, I don’t like the trade. Our team is:
    PG: Brooks, Lowry
    SG: Mac,
    SF: Ariza, Battier, Budinger
    PF: Scola, Landry, Hayes
    C: Andersen, Dorsey
I just think we’d have too many SF:
Outlaw, Battier, and Ariza. Also Budinger
If Curry can get it going that’d be nice.
    I don’t want Duhon.
If that trade were to happen, take out Outlaw and Webster for Rudy.

Budinger is a SG IMO and yea, if Curry looks good, look for the Rockets to look at him

I see Budinger as a two guard as well, but somewhere I read he is a 3 and only a 3. I doubt he’ll get playing time there though.

True The issue with Houston is where do you go? You have the biggest chip in the NBA in T-mac’s contract. You can get 2-4 players for his deal.

That’s why If I was Houston I would shop him right now. You think the Knicks care if he wont play the 1st 25 games? Nope, they want that 22 mil.

Houston should shop McGrady and see what they can get right now!

You are completely right, but…if that’s the case? Without Yao? Why do we care? We’ll let him sit and keep him. Use the money to bring in some Star-Player, with Yao back healthy for the next season. Someone could consider Houston.
It makes more sense to keep McGrady and his Contract. Yao has a player option and I’m sure he’ll take it so he won’t be a Free Agent in 2010 like he would’ve been before the injury. If I’m Wade, Bosh, Or LeBron I wouldn’t turn my head away from Houston. Very Nice Role Players and IF, a BIG IF, IF Yao is healthy….Championship. No doubt in my mind. Lakers wouldn’t be able to beat a Wade/Yao Combo. Heck. I’m thinking big and positive and I know that.

You have every right to think positive. But I think the Deals we have seen rumored for McGrady have the Rockets shopping him. It’s tough to add pieces with San Antonio and Dallas around. I think if you find the right deal, you gotta make it.

this is absolutely the dumbest trade idea i have ever seen. your trade is terrible. you have the bucks listed and since you dont have any bucks players involved in anything you must mean the knicks but then you have David Lee going to them?!?!? its just completely retarded. actually think about what your typing before you type it dumbass
