Pops has signed a non guaranteed contract with New Orleans.

As a hornets fan I just wanna know why pops got the non guaranteed deal and joe alexander got the partially guaranteed deal.

Pops is a very good talent, has great athletisism, energy and motor, but he is not at the same level as everyone else on the floor in terms of understanding of the game. He is often out of position, makes bad passes, and makes bad fouls. he lacks the essiential fundimentals NBA Playes need. If he had fixed those fundimental errors the contract would probally be gaurenteed, but it isnt and odds are he still has a ways to go. Still a great energy guy and will make everyone work harder.

He’s an athletic player who hustles. Anything past that is nothing worth noting. He’s a true 12th man, as he’s not really an NBA level talent, but he can be kept on a roster for a year at a time and do dirty work in the rare instances his number is called.

I remember him when he played on the Raptors, he brought so much energy off the bench. I’m baffled as to why he can’t get a contract.

^^^ He’s a 6’9” 235lb center stuck in the body of a powerforward. He is too small to bang with the big guys night in and night out, and lacks the mid range game or to add any reliable offensive contribution other than hustle baskets and put backs. Don’t get me wrong I love hustle players and hard workers, but thats why he can’t get a contract. He is a very unpolished offensive player.
