TRC1991Participanti think we’ve all forgotten about this guy simply because he hasn’t been anything special this year and hes not even the best player in the country with this name but dayton’s chris wright has really dropped off..not only have i lost interest in this one time projected top 20 pick but it seems like this site has too..he’s projected to go 45th in the 2011 draft…thats crazy considering hes a 6’8” wing who can jump out of the gym and has put up solid numbers for a few years in a row
his numbers havent dropped off significantly its just that wright really hasnt improved, still cant shoot from the outside, can still jam like no other, is he gonna be the next rodney white or can he contribute like a travis outlaw…
i think georgetown’s version has just as much if not more potential to be a solid NBA player
what do you guys think?

WildDudeParticipantHe did turn down some big offers to go to Dayton which I expected him to take the league by storm and be a done and done prospect… he just isn’t putting up the numbers, but with a big senior year he could redeem himself, he certainly has the part.
I would also like to add Will Buford to the list, he is just very inconsistent and if he could put his game together I don’t see any reason why he couldn’t be a top 10 overall pick.

BiggysmallsParticipantYeah just because a guy is big, strong and athletic doesnt mean they are good basketball players or have “potential”…from what I’ve seen from Wright is that he is super athletic, and run the floor like a deer, but just doesnt have alot of basketball skills or talent. Maybe scouts are seeing that.

Lebron and Dwight would beg to differ.

quinceyhodgesyeah there are some that are good and some that arent. its not a given that the person will be good just because they are big strong and athletic was his point.. dan gadzuric would beg to differ with you:)

JNixonParticipantChris Wright is just like Joe Alexander, except with a worse jumper. I think he’s a 2nd round prospect when he declares. He’s a high level athlete, but he isn’t a good ball-handler/shot-creator, isn’t a great shooter.

BiggysmallsParticipantSo your saying that Dwight Howard and Lebron James are only good because they are crazy athletes?? Are you serious?
They actually have basketball skill for one, and for another, they are arguably the 2 most athletic players in the NBA, something Chris Wright would not be. So dont give me that crap. Your just being argumentative.
