Welcome to the 5th Annual Playoff Pickum Game! Hosted by yours truly, dmo21.

So the game is pretty simple. You pick which teams you think are going to win and in how many games for the whole playoff bracket. Basic scoring system is you get 1 point in round 1, 2 points in round 2, 3 points in round 3 and 4 points in round 4. You get double the points if you get the amount of games correct as well. 

Picks have to be in before tipoff of first game.

It would be best if everyone just used my format. So, here are my picks:

 I realized I made a typo with Raptors playing bucks in round 2 and Cavs playing Sixers. It should be Cavs over Raptors in 7, and Philly over Bucks in 5. Then yes still Sixers over Cavs in 7. And Rockets win in 5. I know the Sixers can play because of their 16 game season ending win streak. They can do this despite their youth. Yes, experience matters but this season has been full of twists and turns, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Lebron gets ousted before the Finals for the first time since he was in, I believe 11 years.

So here is where we stand after the first round:

Moist points: SmooveKRYPT, 10 points. 6 series winners correct. 4 amount of games correct.

Most correct/best potential: dmo21 and kerrst. Each have 9 points and only got one series wrong. Both took OKC over Utah. But had OKC losing in the second round, so minimal damage done.

Least points: DC Fraz and Zouldiers, 6 points. DC Fraz got three series calls wrong (had Thunder, Blazers and Spurs winning). Zouldiers only got two series calls wrong (Miami and Portland winning), but never got the amount of games correct in any series.

Worst potential: Zouldiers had Miami making the NBA finals as well as Portland making conference finals. That’s not happening.

Utah vs OKC

 

Since Joe Ingles grew up 5 mins from me and played for the same club as me, plus having Favors in my fantasy team, I follow Utah results a lot.  They were hot towards the end of the season going 28-7. I hate Melonoma and Westbrook is overrated, I am actually surprised it went to a game 7, I thought it would be 4-2.

Portland vs NO – I got that wrong

 Here’s where we are sitting after round 2 of the playoffs.

Top Spot: SmooveKRYPT keeps his top spot with 18 points. However, two posters are behind him with 17 points. It’s a tight race!

Most correct so far: This guy! I’ve only got 2 series wrong so far. Had Thunder in first round and Philly winning in the second round.

Best Outlook: 4 posters have their finals matchup still available. Dmo21 and OhCanada have Cavs and Warriors while cheetosjalapeno17 and DC Fraz have Cavs and Rockets.

Least Points: Zouldiers only gained 2 points, to give him a total of 8 points. He’s still got Houston though!

So the conference finals kinda knocked out a lot of people as they had Houston going all the way. Only 3 posters are still in the running, and here they are:

1. dmo21 (yay me!) at 23 points and having the Warriors in 6.

2. OhCanada with 20 points and Cleveland winning in 7.

3. cohenbc with 16 points and the Warriors in 5.

So it’s pretty simple. If the Cavs win, OhCanada wins. If Golden State wins, I win. Go me!
