Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantWith the arrival of this new draft class, there shall be an absolute minimum of 25 new rookies (1st rounders coming from NCAA) in the NBA next season as 5 international players were drafted in the first round and it is therefore not guaranteed that they’ll join the league next season. That’s why I give the number 25. Therefore, there shall be around 25 players leaving the league before next season starts. Some players like Shaq and Yao have already, or will, retire before the season starts so we can guess that around 20 non-retired players will be out of the league. I am talking here about players who are firmly leaving the league for some months or even until their career ends, guys whose status doesn’t depend on the lockout, not about guys like D-Will who once the lockout ends will immediately come back.
Who are the 20 players you see probably leaving the league? You can include players who already signed overseas like Vujacic or Krstic. To help you out, here is the list of next year’s free-agents:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-11-12
I’m going to work on my list and post it once I’m finished.

Cardinal_FanParticipantGarrett Temple with the pick of Kemba Walker with the Bobcats, Gary Forbes with Jordan Hamilton in Denver, I think Dajuan Summers is serious about not wanting to be in a Pistons uniform so i think he will stay overseas and play until his contract runs out. Ish Smith might be done with Selby in Memphis, Im gonna say Robert Vaden is done in OKC seeing that he never saw the floor anyways, Pooh Jeter with the pick of Jimmer by Sacramento???

rileymcshea3ParticipantIt shouldnt even have Tim Duncan listed as a free agent for 2012 unless the Spurs somehow dont make the Playoffs

TRC1991Participantyeah weems’ contract doesnt have the opt-out opportunity if the lockout ends and chris quinn has pretty much confirmed he will not be playing in the NBA this year

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantI missed quite a bit of things during this month (had no internet) so thanks for the info.
This is for Summers:
http://www.pistonpowered.com/2011/07/dajuan-summers-signs-with-montepaschi-siena/
As for Weems, I remember I only saw a tweet one month ago saying that he was signing for Kaunas but it didn’t mention anything else than that so I thought this signing depended on the lockout but yeah I checked this out:
Again, thanks Anton123 for that info. +1
