cinowanParticipantAriza – looked great with Kobe, horrible without him
Odom – looked great with Kobe, absolutely awful without him
Smush – looked good with Kobe, hasn’t made a team since
Chris Mihm – looked half decent with Kobe, hasn’t made a team since
Turiaf – looked like a solid role players with Kobe, has done nothing since
Vujacic – looked like a good shooter with Kobe, nothing since
Walton – looked like a solid role player with Kobe, nearly out of the league at age 31Feel free to add to the list.
LeBron, on the other hand, has played with players who look just as good without him.

Chilbert arenasParticipantNone of these players looked better because of Kobe, bad argument. Turiaf has won a ring since being with Kobe, Walton probably should have been out of the league a while ago, Sasha was a waste even with the Lakers, Smush was a D-Leaguer to begin with, and Ariza was successfull becasue of his role in LA not because of Kobe

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI dont undersand.. Kobe’s job is to score, score, and score more.. It takes tons of pressure off other players when one guy is getting doubled all the time..
Also, what players are you talking about that looked just as good without Lebron?
Boobie Gibson – 6th man when he was a second year player with Lebron.. Now he never sees the floor..
Mo Williams – Only All-Star berth was while he was playing with Lebron.. Not even close without him.
Big Z – Never better than he was with Lebron around.
Name some players that were better without Lebron??

NCarmean18ParticipantKobe Bryant doesn’t make anyone else good, other than Kobe Bryant. He plays a solo playstyle, and he thinks that he has to rely on himself to do everything on the court. These players never benefitted from Kobe.
Ariza and Odom were the only 2 who were halfway decent, but it wasn’t because of Kobe. Ariza was good because of the role he played in L.A. The Lakers have always had a great coaching staff, and Ariza truly blossomed under that system. Lamar was good because Lamar needed to be good to help his team win. The Lakers never really had a go-to scorer whenever Kobe was off of the floor, and Odom always provided that spark by being an excellent offensive player, as well as a good rebounder.
Kobe didn’t make these guys any better. The coaching staff did. Other than that, it was just the Lakers limited cap space, and signing scrubs to fill the void. That’s all.
