Jdean24ParticipantWho are some playears you guys think will be over drafted this year? Some that might get under drafted and become steals? Here are a couple of mine!
Isaiah Taylor – The kid has talent there is no denying that but he is not a lottery pick right now this is one of the more puzzling projections too me. His shooting is suspect at best. He plays out of control car too often relies on speed alone which will get exposed against taller and stronger opponents. Not a great rebounder or amazing distributer for a player with that much talent surrounding him. Juwan Staten for example I would prefer too him. I know you guys will kill me for that. But as someone that watches a lot of Big 12 ball I like Staten more.
Robert Upshaw – With shot blockers becoming more and more rare he wish projected middle of the second. I think he may be in play for the Raps in the late first round. Kids needs too show a little more offensively before that will happen but his 4.6 BBPGis too valuable too slip that far.
Cliff Alexander – A bit undersized for the NBA power forward and will struggle to score over length but has a great wingspan and is very athletic. If he truly fall too the early 20s if would be a great value pick. The NBA game is more open and will allow more space and he won’t face the double teams he does now. Not a great on ball defender but good weak side defender and is devolving a jumper out too about 18 feet.
Please note I’m leaving off Kelly Obure because I think we all agree this site has him too low right now because he’s only started four games but has been putting up great numbers and will more then likely make a jump in the top 10 in the next few weeks. I also discussed him in another discussion and didn’t want too blow him up again.
Thanks can’t wait too hear your ideas as well.

Critically ThinkingParticipantIf Perry Ellis is drafted anywhere in the late first round early second round I think that would be an over draft. He is kinda polished but hes a senior and he still cant keep Kansas where they should be (the top of the big 12 where they have been)

Jdean24ParticipantEllis is a Junior. But I totally agree at this point he’s a second round at best pick. He’s not very physical. Has no true position and is not a very good defender. And his lack of aggression made Andrew Wiggins look like Micheal Jordan in a game seven haha

JoeWolf1I don’t think teams would reach for Ellis. I think his stock is as low as it’s ever been, and I sincerely doubt he’ll even declare this season.
I don’t know where you guys are getting info that he could potentially be a first rounder, but I think he’s mid-to-late second round at best, and when you get drafted that low, and now guaranteed contracts are involved it’s just kind of a craps shoot in which most guys don’t make rosters.
Perry should take a page from Jared Dudley IMO. He’ll get killed on the block in the NBA, so IMO he should return for his senior year and just shoot 500 threes every day this summer. I probably wouldn’t draft him earlier than 50 at this point if he were to declare this season…In no way do I think teams are high on him.

HobbyOGParticipantI don’t see the hype about Cliff Alexander, reminds me off a poor man Thomas Robinson.

Drumline1997ParticipantThomas Robinson was not a big time player until his junior year though, he came into college extremely raw, almost identical to Alexander. I just worry that Alexander will declare after this season, he needs more time.

tuck243Participantand Kelly Oubre are 2 guys that are on my "watch" list. Both haven’t did much versus the regular college teams. (Well D’Angelo just had 2 games versus Minny and Illinois where he played good)… But it’s still a head scratcher how both players are shooting so bad versus decent talent… For right now, both of these guys would be a reach anywhere in the top 7…
