this draft should be wild with lots of trades.
What players do you think get moved before the night is over and why?

ibe12ParticipantThaddeus doesn’t fit what the Sixers are trying to do and they have no shot at resigning him at the end of the year. I can see the Sixers packaging him and some second round picks to get back into the end of the first round or trade ten and him to move up.

Chilbert arenasParticipantJosh Smith and Rondo, both are a long shot but those would be the biggest names moved on draft night since Ray Allen in 2007

BA30ParticipantI heard there are teams interested in Josh Smith. My question is, who would take on his contract. He was on the block every single year when he was in Atlanta but they could never move him. He may be worth 10 million, but a borderline max player he is not, even at a flat 14 mil salary. Despite the money issue, it has been extremely difficult for teams to figure out the right "fit" for Smith mostly due to the high number of deep jumpers he takes.

teamcb3ParticipantIf Philly decides to go with Exum at 3 then I think there is a strong chance MCW gets moved, most likely to the Kings for the 8th pick I would think.

Kinguy11ParticipantI think even if the 76ers take Exum they may try to pair him with MCW. From what I’m hearing, some teams are reclutant to hand over the starting PG keys to Exum straight away. If that’s the case, then Exum could start at SG and play some minutes at the point when MCW is having a break. The length those two would have at the 1 and 2 would be deadly.

jjsParticipantJazz announced Favors is not going anywhere, was not even part of any trade discussions in the first place.
I’d say Jeremy Lin and Rajon Rondo.

JCliff24ParticipantA source close to Dion Waiters said Dion quoted "By tomorrow night either myself or Kyrie wont be on the team" that was broadcasted on Fox Sports Ohio. So my guess is Waiters.

The GoatParticipantWell, Afflalo is gone. Sent to Denver for Fournier and #56, which is a head scratcher.
What do Denver do with their pick now? They have Lawson, Afflalo, Gallinari, Faried and McGee. Its a solid group of guys but its nowhere near enough to stand pat and try win the West.
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2014 - 10:10am #927336
Kinguy11ParticipantOn the contrary, with a healthy Gallo and a solid bench I believe they could be a real threat.

ScrubWebbParticipantCan we stop including JaVale Mcgee outside of any discussings regarding a "solid group of guys"?
This dude has been coasting on potential for years. In his last health season (2012-2013) he put up 9 points and 5 boards per game but was only on the floor for 18 minutes per game (while making $10 million per year). In that season his win shares were on par with Jason Collins and Spencer Hawes.

ProudGrandpaParticipantI could see a Pacer getting moved to give Indiana a first round pick. Bird has always been very aggressive on draft night.

jtthebrickParticipantEnes Kanter, or Alec Burks are the most likely to be moved by the Jazz. Doubt that the Jazz keep all 3 of their picks.

SwatLakeCityParticipantRelinba when did Afflalo get dealt back to Denver for Fournier and the 56th. That is a head scratcher but last I checked the 56th pick still belonged to the Nuggets and not the Magic. Maybe this site hasn’t updated the draft yet. But could you provide the link for that. Also I heard that the Cavs were seriously considering a move from 1 to 4 by getting Afflalo from the Magic.
Here are my predictions of players that will be moved tonight or during the offseason:
- Arron Afflalo
- Jameer Nelson
- Dion Waiters
- Josh Smith
- Tayshaun Prince
- John Salmons
- Thaddeus Young
- Anthony Bennett
- Rajon Rondo
And Jazz, please oh please do not deal Derrick Favors and/or Alec Burks. I don’t care if you get Jabari Parker in the end its not worth it to move those players. They are too valuable to this team. You won’t make the playoffs next year if Favors and/or Alec is not on your team. You’ve been in the lottery long enough, its time to start showing some promise and make the playoffs next year as a 7 or 8 seed. You can’t do that without Favors and/or Burks. If you want Parker that bad then try and move Kanter instead. Teams probably won’t bite with Kanter on the block but if that’s the case then just stick with the pick you have. You can still get Exum, Vonleh, Gordon Randle or possibly Embiid with the 5th pick and one of those 5 guys could turn out better then Parker and losing Favors and/or Burks. My favorite for the 5th pick is Gordon, although I really like Vonleh too. (I’d only select Gordon if Vonleh is gone by the 5th pick)
