The pistons want either Greg Monroe or DeMarcus Cousins but both are likely to be gone so who do you think they should choose

Assuming we don’t trade up and Cousins and Monroe are both gone, I think that we go Udoh.

Wallace is considering retirement, which is why I assume he did not put him on the depth chart. We will also most likely re-sign Will Bynum too.

udoh is a mismatch guy who can potentialy take PFs and Centers off the dribble, he has great defensive potential, but cousins seems such the sexy pick no homo haha

Stuckey should play shooting guard but since there is no room to play shooting guard with those great contracts for the next 4 years still on the roster.

I think they should move down to select a PG then trade stuckey to a team for a solid bigman (idk, maybe minnesota for big al)

16th and 23rd pick, Al Jefferson and Sessions for 7th pick Stuckey and Hamilton

Pistons do it if Cousins and Monroe are gone

Wolves do it if they select Wes Johnson, take Hamilton for leadership

    Flynn – Stuckey – Johnson – Love – Udoh
    Clemente – Hamilton – Brewer – Varnado – Millicic

If Monroe and Cousins are gone i hope they pick Udoh because Ben Wallace will make him into a defensive star. He has a solid offensive game already. I really want them to get Monroe and i dont want cousins at all.

Well if pistons take Udoh then that means Utah gets their wish and selects Babbitt at 9. But i dont think Udoh deserves a top 8 pick. top10 sounds just about right. Besides using Udoha s a Center is just asking for trouble since he is so small of for the 5.

I think the appeal of Davis at #7 is that if he puts on a little weight he could play a little center. I think Monroe would be an excellent fit in Detroit with his post passing and Gordon and Charlie V on the perimiter but with him gone I don’t see why you’d draft a guy like Udoh or Patterson when you have a guy like Jerebko who is young, productive and getting better. Maybe Patterson because he is quick enough he could guard the #3 position, but I think getting a guy like Davis who is a little raw but could possibly play some center down the road makes some sense than drafting Udoh at the 4 who does a lot of the same things Jerebko did last season.

I’ve heard that they are really high on Aminu…

Doesn’t make sense to me, but that’s what all the papers in Detroit are saying…

Ford said he knows Detroit is looking for a big man with toughness and grit at No. 7, but he added that “the Pistons are among a handful of teams who think, given Aminu’s length, that he can play the 4 in the NBA.”

    http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/06/latest_mock_draft_by_chad_ford.html

Some other random stuff I found…

Many people have tabbed the seventh slot as Al-Farouq Aminu’s landing spot, which confuses me. How many more SF/PF-types are the Pistons going to select before they realize that Jason Maxiell isn’t a good solution at center?

With the Pistons in full rebuilding mode after last season’s debacle, GM Joe Dumars finds a young, budding talent in Aminu, who can become the heir apparent to Tayshaun Prince.

The list of big men the Pistons could target includes Georgetown power forward Greg Monroe, Baylor power forward Ekpe Udoh, Wake Forest forward Al-Farouq Aminu or North Carolina power forward Ed Davis. Udoh’s agent, Chris Grier Luchey, has said his client will work out for the Pistons.”

A lot of mock drafts have Aminu going 7th. Couldn’t find anything concrete though…

    This is interesting…

The Pistons have the seventh overall pick in this year’s draft, so they have a great opportunity to select from a wide array of talent; however, only one player makes sense: Cole Aldrich.

The Kansas center has been speculated to be among the favorites to be drafted by the Pistons, but most people think Detroit will go with Wake Forest small forward Al-Farouq Aminu.

Why are all these retards saying the Pistons should take Udoh??? That guy has bust written all over him. Any team that picks him in the lottery isnt the sharpest tool in the shed.

If they can’t get Monroe or Cousins (and stay at 7), they should take Aldrich IMO.

What do you Pistons fans think of Eddie Davis?

i believe they can grab either cousins or monroe as well, but if they are off the board im going with Cole Aldrich, they need an inside presence that wants to rebound and alter shots and aldrich is perfect for that role, the man loves doing those dirty work plays. and hes a legit 5. plus i think udoh is a little bit of a reach here. and aldrich’s offense is quite sufficient, although his shot is so awkward looking its been pretty effective. and id be shocked if they grabbed aminu especially with daye’s development, the guy has some skills just wait it out a little bit

They have Prince, Daye, Villanueva and Jerebko (and Summers I guess) at the combo forward positions already. I think that Aldrich is the best pick for them, as he would instantly make them a much better defensive team.

Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva should not have been signed last summer. Ever since then, I’ve felt like the Pistons have screwed themselves over.
