vmendi123ParticipantThis is one trade where I feel Detroit gets back pretty decent value for Monroe with 2 good players for 3 more years and control of 2 players coming off of rookie contracts.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mon4huk
Detroit Receives: Danillo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Jordan Hamilton
Denver Receives: Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey, Jonas Jerebko, Luigi DatomeMoose is one year away from essentially having the same contract as Smiff. While Moose is a much better player than Smiff, Moose also has much more trade value at this point.
Long term, I think this trade gives Detroit a lot of flexibility. They could dump Jennings and Bynum if we package them with Faried for something like the Lakers 1st round pick and a S&T of Meeks. That would give them enough money to either put together a very good bench or get a reset on a splash move and try to make Lance Stephenson an offer he can’t refuse to be the PGOTF.
For the nuggets, they get the best player in the trade and someone that would play very well alongside Javale for the future. While they lose two good 3s, they open up some cap space by not having to resign Faried next year.

FearTheStacheParticipantThat’s a lot for Denver to give up for a soon to be RFA in Monroe and an expiring Stuckey, along with other scrandoms

machu46ParticipantAgree that it’s a lot to give up, but I’d much rather give Monroe a big contract than Faried. The fact that Monroe is restricted doesn’t hurt the trade since they can match whatever offer Monroe gets.
But yeah, I don’t know about this one.

HitsterParticipantNot a riduculous trade as we often see on here but Denver are trying to make a play off run this year even with Gallo and McGee out so I don’t see them gutting their team like this. Also Detroit tried to go "win now" this year and will have one eye on what will happen with Monroe this summer.
I always like East to West trades and the balance here is pretty fair but I’d doubt Denver would give up Faried and multi trades between just two teams when one isn’t looking to tank are fairly rare. I recall that Pacers and GSW did a similar sized trade a few years back when both were in similar positions.
But fairplay to a new poster for making a reasonable trade suggestion so I’ll give him a +1 for it although I don’t agree with a lot of it.

Sharp ShooterParticipantI agree, not a bad trade. I would like to send the Michgan product back home Wilson Chandler (just not at the expense of monroe) …and I do think that Wilson can fit into your "big lineup" and play sf (and defend and shoot three well). Jordan Would be good off the bench with his outside shooting. I would put up on red flag on Danilo though, especially after I just read that he may miss the entire 13-14 season. Plus I think it would be a log jam at the 3 spot. Faried would be off the bench player especially if drummond gets in foul trouble.
For Denver McGee and Monroe would be a good frontcourt (if McGee could ever stay healthy). Not much would be expected from him offensively and Monroe wouldn’t be such a liability defensively. Stuckey would be a salary cap relief. jonas could have a fresh start after getting buried on the bench in detroit. and Datome be just a bench player. Even as a pistons fan, I do think that Denver is giving up alot in this trade so I doubt it would happen.
Plus I would like for the pistons to get better shooters around them for their lineup especially to stretch the floor for drummond, and allow Smith to operated downlow (8-10 feet) AS A PF. Their main issue is at the SG & SF spot. Based on wathcing the games, it seems Cheeks favor the Drummond/Smith combo more than the Monroe/Drummond duo. They just aren’t getting anything out of those two wing positions. KCP has potential, but right now needs to come off the bench with kyle Singler and Smith needs to be downlow. And the pistons are in a "Win now mode" according to Tom Gorres (Although he barely shows to support the pistons). If they are going to trade Monroe, and Stuckey they are going to need add some "life" at the those two spots and they need a "Closer". Only player that comes to mind would be Granger( doubt the Pacers will trade with a team in their conference), Affalo(possible), Barnes (possibility), Parsons(I doubt houston would trade him), Gay (doubt they’ll trade him), or Ariza.
Not bad of a trade, but pistons need shooting and perimeter defending….Still get a +1 from me.

hbomb3300ParticipantI think this could work if Gallinari wasn’t having such a hard time coming back from surgery. There is talk that he could be out for the rest of the season.
