fj84utu389tu5ParticipantNow that we have the ownership deal resolved, What possible deals do you think the Pistons could do to help their team. Yes, I hear you: "Please! They have nothing but bad contracts." But if thats the case, then how come Washington was able to move arguably the worst contract in NBA history in Gilbert Arenas last December? Enough said. So what kind of deals would you suggest to help the Pistons?

draftmangtParticipantWith the uncertainty of the new CBA i dont see teams looking to take on salary (except the cavs). So i think it will be difficult for the Pistons to move playes like Hamilton, Gordon, and Villanueva and get what they deem fair value.

kobyzParticipanti write again my plan for Pistons Off-Season:
if i’m the Pistons i definitely want Prince to stay, he still has in him at least 3-4 quality years, he just had his best season scoring wise and imo played quite well this year even with the circumstances, if you want to build a winning team Prince is a great piece at SF position with his all-around game, defense, iq and leadership.
in the draft of course must go for a big, a center, it could be Jonas Valanciunas or Bismack Biyombo.
then remain to worry about the backcourt, where has big problem there, you have to think what to do with the players who don’t quite fit together right now but there his some talent, this is what i would do: we know Stuckey his very talanted but better suite for the two guard, we know Ben Gordon most effective as a six man and Richard Hamilton just doesn’t fit with all of that, so my idea is to make a trade Richard Hamilton for Baron Davis, both players with about the same contract so both teams can only benefit from this trade, as for the Cavs, they very thin at SG position and already has Ramon Sessions and also with their two high lottery pick they definitely going to get valuable PG(Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker) so it make a lot of sense, as for Pistons, Baron Davis still can play in a high level when he want to, he is more of a pure PG and facilitator and better match to play next to Stuckey and Gordon, generally i don’t see how you can lose from this trade, for both teams.
concerning the rotation i would make Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva players who come of the bench and by this to create a strong second unite, i think it’s the best way to produce from them the most.
so what you think? this is my 2011/2012 Detroit Pistons:
Baron Davis/Tracy McGrady/Will Bynum
Rodney Stuckey/Ben Gordon/Terrico White
Tayshaun Prince/Jonas Jerebko/Austin Daye/Dajuan Summers
Greg Monroe/Charlie Villanueva/Jason Maxiell
(Jonas Valanciunas/Bismack Biyombo)/Ben Wallace/Chris Wilcox0- Posted on: Tue, 06/07/2011 - 2:48am #540957
bbeckwithParticipantI see the Pistons trading Ben Gordon or Richard Hamilton, they no longer view Rip as a bad contract so I think Gordon is the one more likely to be traded. Prince will do a sign-and-trade with Detroit and help them get some assets back in return. Stuckey will be the starting SG next season as long as a team doesn’t overpay for his services. Charlie V is defiantly on the trading block.. All of these players contain bad contracts so you have to find teams who are also wanting to trade some starters to shake up their team.. Some ideas..
Pistons Trade: Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton For:
LAC Trade: Chris Kaman and Ryan Gomes + Draft Picks next year.
Pistons trade away Prince and Rip, in return get a Center to start along side Monroe, take back Gomes to make trade work and also get a chance next season at one of the Clippers 1st round picks.
Clippers trade away Kaman so DeAndre Jordan gets to start along side Griffen.. They also go get the veterans they need on a young team and have a solid foundation moving forward with Griffen, Aminu, Jordan, Gordon, Prince, Rip, and Bledsoe.
Pistons Trade: Ben Gordon, Austin Daye and 35th Overall Pick For:
Bucks Trade: Brandon Jennings and Corey Maggette
Pistons trade away Gordon to get of the logjam at SG.. Stuckey now set to start with Rip off bench and starting PG would be Jennings, Pistons have to take back bad contract off the buck’s hand while giving up propsects in Daye and the 35th overall..
Bucks: Trade away Jennings, who coach Skiles does not want on his team next year.. in Return get a scoring threat from the bench they need and two young players to add to their rebuilding team.. Also get rid of one of the two bad contracts left, which are hindering the team’s future.
Pistons Trade: Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton For:
Hawks Trade: Josh Smith and Zach Pachulia and Trade Exception (Childress)
Essentially a Josh Smith for Prince swap and Rip’s contract going to ATL in exchange for Zach and the exception.. Pistons save some money while getting a young SF, ATL replaces Smith which they plan on doing this offseaon while also getting Rip.
(Only see this happening if Mike Woodson ends up being coach in Detroit)
Other Detroit News:
Won’t Trade 8th Pick: If any of the top3 PGs are there, Pistons covet all of them.. Valanciunas, Vessley, or Bismack will be the pick otherwise. Sleeper Pick: Alec Burks
Coach: Mike Woodson will be their 1st choice, if he doesn’t come, look at the team to take a look at an Isiah Thomas/Bill Lambier duo in Detroit.

PlatypusParticipant1st trade sign and trade Prince and Maxiell for Kaman
Clippers get depth behind Griffin and a defensive small forward
Williams – Gordon – Prince – Griffin – Jordan
Bledsoe – Foye / 2nd 2nd rounder – Aminu – Maxiell – first 2nd rounder
2nd trade Charlie V for James Posey
Indy: gets a power forward because there isnt any good for where there picking
Collison – George – Granger – Charlie V – Hibbert
Price / 2nd rounder – Jones – Rush – Hansbrough / bpfa – Foster
(best power forward available)
Pistons: salary dumps is the name of the game
Stuckey – Hamilton – Daye – Monroe – Kaman
Bynum – Gordon – 2nd rounder – Jerebko – 1st rounder

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantSign and Trade Prince to LA for Kaman??? That would mean LA is paying close to 10 million for Prince??? Not happening…you could trade Prince to Dallas for Caron Butler and Dallas’s 1st round pick (Faried or Keith Benson) if Kemba is gone by 8 draft Faried and pass on the high risk high reward guys Bismack and Jonas…

bbeckwithParticipantWe both agree Kemba Walker would be unreal in the Pistons D.. but if he’s gone, you would reach for a undersized PF in Faried who you could draft in the 20s, at 8? Makes no sense.. you just mentioned we could grab him with Dallas’s first round pick.. C’Mon man think before you post.

kobyzParticipantonly my plan is realistic!

dodgerParticipantVillanueva’s contract , Stuckey’s stalled progression, Lack of coaching , I think the only move is using Greg Monroe to acquire veterans and pray you can get the 8 seed.

fj84utu389tu5ParticipantWhat you guys think of my idea? Just in case we don’t see anyone at the 8th spot that we like, I thought maybe we could call Houston and see if we could trade down for their 14th and 23rd picks. At least that way we get TWO young prospects instead of one to help with our rebuilding project. Just a thought. Take it for what it’s worth.

fennisdemboParticipantif any of your plans include rip, prince or t-mac in next years lineup

the pistons are looking at new ownership, new coach, new beginning.
nobody other than the heat coming out of the east for the next 4 years, so expect a
4 year plan.
young hard working team coached by bill laimbeer, the city needs and will support a young hard working team.
there is a real chance the pistons could move up this year and go for kanter or walker. the pistons are in the mix for whatever the mad scientist in minnesota is weaving and have assets to return.
i like a kemba and stuckey backcourt building around daye at sf, monroe, kaman and jerebko. ben gordon and charlie v would give their bench credibility.
another quality pick in next years draft and and a healthy terrico white your 2 years away from east relevance.
