So Simmons was supposedly just promised #1 by Philly, per Windhorst at ESPN. That, plus there are increasing rumors that Philly will trade Okafor/Noel for #3 to grab Dunn. That would in theory make their depth chart: 

PG: Dunn/Canaan/Smith/McConnell

SG: Stauskas/draft pick/trade/mystery box

SF: Simmons/Saric/Covington

PF: Simmons/Noel/Saric/Covington

C: Embiid/Okafor/Noel

I’m gonna go ahead and assume the starting 5 will be some combo of Dunn, SG, Simmons, Saric/Noel, Embiid/Okafor/Noel. Where in the crap are they going to have any sort of outside shooting? There’s craploads of talent, but man, do they have a weird roster construction. There is zero sense of spacing (exception possibly Saric and possibly whoever they get at SG), they have 2 primary ball handlers- neither of whom can shoot well, and centers that can’t coexist (yeah, I know there’ll be a trade).

I think Saric and other guys to Minny for 5 would be something I would look at.

So, like, Saric, Robert Covington, Richaun Holmes, Canaan, Stauskas, 24, and 26 for the 5th pick and cash.

The Sixers take either Buddy Hield or Jamal Murray.

Then play a big back court with Ben Simmons at point and either Hield or Murray at the 2.

Or, go with a normal backcourt with Ish Smith/McConnell at point, and Hield/Murray at the 2 with that YUGE front line rotation of Simmons, Oakafor, and Nerlens Noel/Joel Embiid.

The T Wolves get a talented forward to go with Towns inside.  Then Robert Covington as small forward depth along with Shabazz (if they plan to go with Wiggins at the 2).  Stauskas and Canaan give them more backcourt depth with some solid guys projected to still be on the board at 24 and 26.

 To whoever thinks they are gonna play embid 20mpg off the bench, just remember they aren’t trading okafor to have embid play 20mpg off the bench. They may restrict his minutes some through November, but they are trying to win some games next year and banking on Embid to be a big part of that.

He’s sat for two years. You play him. You see what he’s got. You have to see if he can hold up. The fans will not wait another year on wanting to see what embid can be. In theory he should be hitting his third season and ready to take a big leap. But he is only entering what hopes to be a healthy first season. It’s the NBA. They play 82 games. He can either hold up or he can’t and I hope we’ll find out this year as oppose to dangling him like a carrot as a sign of hope.
