So Simmons was supposedly just promised #1 by Philly, per Windhorst at ESPN. That, plus there are increasing rumors that Philly will trade Okafor/Noel for #3 to grab Dunn. That would in theory make their depth chart:

    PG: Dunn/Canaan/Smith/McConnell

    SG: Stauskas/draft pick/trade/mystery box

    SF: Simmons/Saric/Covington

    PF: Simmons/Noel/Saric/Covington

    C: Embiid/Okafor/Noel

I’m gonna go ahead and assume the starting 5 will be some combo of Dunn, SG, Simmons, Saric/Noel, Embiid/Okafor/Noel. Where in the crap are they going to have any sort of outside shooting? There’s craploads of talent, but man, do they have a weird roster construction. There is zero sense of spacing (exception possibly Saric and possibly whoever they get at SG), they have 2 primary ball handlers- neither of whom can shoot well, and centers that can’t coexist (yeah, I know there’ll be a trade).

It’ll be interesting to see what happens after the wrecking ball goes through this roster, but damn this is a cluster**** right now lol

Saric is a PF no SF. How can you h ave both Okafor and Dunn?

It’ll be more like a starting 5 of

    PG: Dunn

    SG: Stuakaus

    SF: Simmons

    PF: Saric

    C: Noel

Embiid will play about 20 min/g off the bench, he and Covington will be the 6th/7th man. Draft wing players for depth at 24 and 26.

Evan Fournier is free agent. Perfect for the role. Even if he is a restricted free agent, how much can he get paid when Orlando fans and front office prefers Oladipo? I think he is a plausible target in FA for the 6ers, who do not really care about money right now anyway…

Looks like they need a shooting guard more.

I think Saric and other guys to Minny for 5 would be something I would look at.

So, like, Saric, Robert Covington, Richaun Holmes, Canaan, Stauskas, 24, and 26 for the 5th pick and cash.

The Sixers take either Buddy Hield or Jamal Murray.

Then play a big back court with Ben Simmons at point and either Hield or Murray at the 2.

Or, go with a normal backcourt with Ish Smith/McConnell at point, and Hield/Murray at the 2 with that YUGE front line rotation of Simmons, Oakafor, and Nerlens Noel/Joel Embiid.

The T Wolves get a talented forward to go with Towns inside.  Then Robert Covington as small forward depth along with Shabazz (if they plan to go with Wiggins at the 2).  Stauskas and Canaan give them more backcourt depth with some solid guys projected to still be on the board at 24 and 26.

Going with Murray at 3 or at 5 for the Sixers. He’s a baller and is going to be a scoring machine in three years. He reminds me a little of James Harden, but he’s Canadian so no Kardashians.

If you can roll out Ish/Murray/Simmons/Saric and then either Jah or Noel, that’s the start of something interesting.

    1. Ben Simmons will be a SF/PF and he’ll create a ton of oppurtunities for his teammates

    2. Kris Dunn will be a dynamic 2 way G who can create for himself and his teammates

    3. Saric and Embiid can both pass, shoot, rebound at an above average level

    4. Noel is a defensive force who can defend 1 through 5 on a switch in PnR

    5. They will be adding another G like Bradley in the deal for Okafor, one who can play D and hit an open shot

    6. They’ll also be angling for that 16th pick, and coupled with the 24th and 26th picks I’d say we are in a great spot to either trade up or draft the shooters they need with All 3 picks

    7. They will not have Canaan, McConnell, Thompson or Marshall on the roster, they may even let Ish and Nik go too IDK if they’re worth the money

    8. Speaking of money, we have over 55 million in cap space to land the SG in your mystery box, but we’ll talk Free Agency in a few days

    9. They aren’t in a rush to win a title, this is essential the last stage of straight up tanking, year 1 of the Ben Simmons era, they see a ton of potential in Dunn and Noel defensively, Saric and Embiid offensively

    10. They are going to add another combo of prospects in the lottery again next in draft loaded with Guards and Forwards…

You should give us time as a long suffering Twolves fan, you’ve been rebuilding since you traded KG to Boston…

Celtics are going to have to do some thing to sweeten the pot. 3 for Okafor straight up won’t do. The Celtics want to make the trade more than the Sixers…

dazeone why do you think the Celtics want to make the trade happen more then Philly? It’s being reported Philly really wants Dunn at 3, Celtics own the pick. If Philly really loves him they need the pick from Boston.

They been trying to pry Okafor away since the trade deadline. Not to mention they have tried to get Cousins and Love. All that would cost the Celts way more than the # 3 pick. It started with the New England media not Philly’s….

FYI it’s being reported by Brian Geltzer at Hoopscritic that the Celtics target in trade talks with Philly is Noel. A lot has changed since the deadline last year. It was never reported what the proposed actual deal for Okafor was

To whoever thinks they are gonna play embid 20mpg off the bench, just remember they aren’t trading okafor to have embid play 20mpg off the bench. They may restrict his minutes some through November, but they are trying to win some games next year and banking on Embid to be a big part of that.

He’s sat for two years. You play him. You see what he’s got. You have to see if he can hold up. The fans will not wait another year on wanting to see what embid can be. In theory he should be hitting his third season and ready to take a big leap. But he is only entering what hopes to be a healthy first season. It’s the NBA. They play 82 games. He can either hold up or he can’t and I hope we’ll find out this year as oppose to dangling him like a carrot as a sign of hope.

The fans have no control over what the 76ers do with EMbiid, so if they think they do, they can go to hell.

It would be downright stupid to expect Embiid to come back and play starters minutes right away. He’s been out for 2-plus years with injuries. He’s 21 years old. There’s no rush. Bring him along at a comfortable pace and see what happens. Philly isnt winning the title next year, so don’t overload Embiid.

As a Wolves fan, I hope they don’t trade for Dunn because I want him. Honestly I think Murray would be a better fit for them anyways as Simmons and Saric are point-forward types, which would allow Murray to play off the ball more often than he would on another team.

Either way, Philly needs guards. Ish can be a decent backup. Not sure about Stauskas but I’d assume he’ll get another shot to earn minutes. Covington is solid on the wing, Saric and Simmons are PFs.

I’d think an Okafor for 3 and Bradley would be the asking price if I’m Philly. The dude average 17 points as a 19-year-old without any real professional guards for half a season. His value isn’t "tanked" like people think. He’s not DeAndre Jordan defensively, but he’s good enough offensively to ruin teams that want to play small.

I’m fairly confident Embiid will play and play well. He’ll be shaking off rust til around Christmas, but I think the concerns expressed about recurring injury are a bit much. My understanding was that he felt fine a year ago. I saw videos of him 1 on 0, shooting and dunking.

I think just it was that scans revealed an anomaly in the way he healed, they re-did the surgery to make sure. I don’t think it was a pain thing, like a knee where he simply couldn’t go, it was more to avoid an issue a couple of years down the track.

He has been getting the world’s best treatment for a long time, far more advanced than what Ilgauskas got 15 years ago. I think he’ll start, he’ll play well and he’ll be on regular minutes by seasons end.

If he turns out to be Mr Glass, so be it, they have Noel and Okafor. I think so they can still trade one of these guys, they’ll pick up another 7 footer in the 2nd round and play him in the DLeague.

Talk is they want Dunn, but they need shooters badly.

Expecting the starters to be Covington, Simmons and Embiid with 2 new additions.

The 2nd unit will be Ish Smith, Jerami Grant and Noel.

That leaves free agency, Okafor, #24 and #26 to bring in a PG and 3 shooters
