dsrepresentaParticipantI been watching him since high school and now that louisville won the title. I would be very surprised if he didn’t get drafted because he was a huge part in the second half of that championship game. Do you all think he will get drafted?

RafterParticipantI don’t think he will get drafted, he could sneak into the tail end of the second round but I see him getting on a summer league roster. I personally think he’ll be successful in Europe, his poise and ball-handling will be valued highly and then signed by an NBA team as one of those “old, young” players years down the line.

JoeWolf1I think he’ll get picked up, now. As weird as it sounds, the NCAA champion always gets borderline guys drafted. I think he’s still in the 50-undrafted range, but there are a lot of old school front office personnel in the NBA who are willing to take a proven winner with a low risk pick. Siva reminds me of Dennis Clemente, and I doubt he’ll have much staying power in the league, but I think he’ll be taken and if not he’ll be on a summer league roster.

timinator1ParticipantI think Siva has a shot to be in the league as one of those pace changing 2nd unit PGs coaches love. Tyus Edney, Ty Lawson, DJ Augustine…needs to work on his shot, but the quickness, the hands, the leadership are there.

Lotto StudParticipantCan someone please put the link up from that lob?

capecodderParticipantIf there was an MVP for just the second half of the final game, he would have walked away with it….controlled the game

JoeWolf1It shows a lot of guts and confidence to run down to the free throw line late in the game after being fouled on the inbounds. You could tell being at the stripe to close the game was not something he was worried about, at all.

SiggyParticipantI would be absolutely shocked if he got drafted. He’s not an NBA player. He’s a pesky defender (who fouls a lot) and a strong, quick straight line driver with his right hand. That’s about it.

AZcats09ParticipantI see a little bit of Isaiah Thomas Jr. in his game, without quite the jumpshot. His quickness is still top notch even for the NBA level…if he can become a little more of a natural PG i think he could stick in the league for a while. I’d take a second round flier on him if I needed some backcourt depth. If the NBA doesn’t work I think he can tear it up overseas, no question.

SnowtaParticipantI think there’s just other PG’s that are better options than Siva. Let’s say a team at the end of the draft wants to grab a PG. If you’re gonna take a 4th year undersized PG why not take Pierre Jackson who can do pretty much everything Siva does, but can actually shoot it too. I like Siva and you gotta respect what he did last night, but I don’t think he’s getting drafted.

boomdizzalParticipanthe gets drafted, he has marketability and he reminds me of T.J Ford with a weaker jumpshot, and TJ didnt did not have a great jumpshot either. It won’t be easy but he can be a backup pg in the league, but more likely the 3rd string.

kingofbumsParticipanthe might be too small but i think a team will take their chances on him in the 50s. his passing is underrated and if he can just improve his jumpshot ill take him over john lucas

FastAndFuriousParticipantI don’t think he’s going to get drafted:
Siva still hasn’t shown the ability to shoot as he has shot under 29% from 3 his last 3 years in Louisville, and his FG% isn’t anything to be proud of either and he doesn’t take many shots which says alot,he doesn’t get to the free throw line either. Though he has gotten better he still has trouble taking care of the ball at times, on top of all that he’s small and a year older for his class.
Now the things he does have going for him is he is crazy athletic, super quick and when he is playing with confidence(as he did last night) he looks like a big time player, but he’s way too inconsistent had he played like he did last night all year we wouldn’t even be asking will he get drafted, we’d be asking is he one of the first PG’s taken in the draft.
Now don’t let me sit here and lie, I thought Siva would have been in the NBA 2 years ago, but he never turned that corner, he has the talent, I just don’t think he can put it all together, only time will tell tho.

XYRYXParticipantGuys like Tyrone Lue made it to the league and why shouldn’t he make it?
Right now the 1 seems to be the strongest position in the league but you can always use a good defender who is a leader and isn’t afraid of the big shots. Derek Fisher made a career out of this and mastered to be a starting pg while just having like 4 apg over so many years.I’m not saying he will make it but to say he won’t make it is an ignorant statement to me. If he doesn’t get drafted someone will invite him to tryouts or camp apearences and can prove what he can. Anyone remembers the name Jermy Lin? You never know if a kid has the desire and will to make it he will get the opportunety some day…

SnowtaParticipantTyronn Lue and Derek Fisher were both great three point shooters. It’s extremely difficult for a guard his size to make it in the NBA without a jumper. Not saying he won’t make it, just saying it will be very hard.

B-ball fanParticipantI’m not sure I see much of an NBA future for him, but his ability to handle the ball and play the pick and roll should allow him a chance to make a team, although I am skeptical that he will be successful in that quest. He does seem like the type of guy who would do great in the summer league, though, the way Maalik Wayns did last year.
He really needs to work on his shot so defenses respect his ability to shoot over the top of the pick and roll. He really struggled when Wichita State went under the screen on him. I’m actually a little surprised Michigan didn’t do the same thing. He dominated that game, the MVP the whole way through. He started scoring big in the second half, but even in the first half, most of Louisville’s offensive success stemmed from his ability to get in the lane off the pick and roll.

FastAndFuriousParticipantUmmm you do know that Tyronn Lue was a beast at Nebraska his junior year averaging 22,4,5 and drafted in the first round for a reason, don’t act as if he didn’t prove himself at the college level, Siva hasn’t gotten much better since his Sophomore year.

lockdownDSiva is a slashing 5’11 PG. He would be a liability from the three-point line, at 5’11. He would not be able to burn by anybody in the NBA. He gets most of his points and assist on the break where Louisville happens to be a more athletic team than mostly everyone they face. In the NBA his reckless fastbreak drives would be out the window, not to mention he would get beat up.
He doesn’t have any court vision.
.
If anybody thinks Siva is better than Pierre Jackson…. just shoot yourself.0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/09/2013 - 12:08pm #761503

Ghost01ParticipantHe isn’t getting picked, and he isn’t close to an NBA caliber player. Talk about overreacting to last game you watched, oh god…
Cheyenne was talking about him being at the PIT, the showcase thingy that Chad Ford remarked that “James Southerland is the only player in the top 80 that’s going to be there”, well there’s a legitimate draft scout basically saying Siva isn’t within 20 picks of being a 2nd rounder.
He only has a right hand, he is a mediocre shooter, and basically his game was based around his “feisty” defense, that by NBA standards was basically illegal. Also, he couldn’t really guard NBA PGs in the half court, because has noted above, this is an all-time great stretch for PGs, and it’s not like he is going to be able to harrass Spike Albrecht for 94 feet like he did in college….in the NBA, even Chris Paul has had a difficult time guarding the elite PGs (Site Parker, Rose, and Westbrook).
And finally, yes was hot in the 2nd half against Duke, and the 2nd half against Michigan, but other than that, he was really really mediocre in this tournament. Good college player. But he has a better chance of being Sean May’s teammate next year than playing in the NBA.

FreelanceScoutParticipantOut of the topic, Kinda funny Peyton Siva is thanking God, his family and GF after the game but also texting a pornstar Jenna Shea once he got back to the hotel lol
