nick5354ParticipantOne thing I do enjoy about the NBAdraft.net site is the player comparisons. I know sometimes they get hate for getting it ver wrong in some cases but overall I find it a nice feature.
However, each years the next ears rookies or players who have just really entered the league become player comparisons. For example Markelle Fultz has a D’angelo Russell plaer comp. Russell doesn’t even really know who he is yet as a player so how can a player who is still finding his way in the league be an NBA comp for a young player coming through.
Silly thing but I always found it a pet hate to see these young guys become player comps for other oung HS and College players.

nick5354ParticipantExcuse the awful grammer, lay out and flow of the post I accidentally posted when I wasn’t finished and due to the weird inability to edit posts here I can’t fix it.
This actually brings out another rant; like come on guys, let us edit our posts it is so unbelievably annoying

ChewyParticipantI hate that every 16-18 out there is the next Kobe, Durant, Lebron, Shaq. Even Magic gets thrown out there for every PG over 6’3. When you compare a young player to a man whose career is over, it makes it tough. Not every phenom is making it to the HOF, comparing him to a "star" or a guy who has been an all-star a few times seems more likely and realistic. A Dwight Howard instead of Shaq. A pre injury Shaun Livingston instead of Magic. Elton Brand instead of Karl Malone ect ect.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI think we get too caught up in player comparisons, I take them as who the player mostly resembled at that age due to their physical traits and play style. We all know Fultz is much more athletic then Russell, but their play styles as tall, lead guards that can score and stuff the stat sheet at the college level is very similar.

Hype MachineAs late president Theodore Roosevelt stated…
"Comparisons are the thief of joy".
Why get caught up in something that doesnt matter. Markieff and Marcus Morris are twins yet their game is different.
Its something that will send people with OCD into a tailspin.
In other comparison news….who’s A$$ is hotter. Rebel Wilson or Oprah?
