Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantWe all know Perry Jones III is and has always been super talented. But tonight with Russell Westbrook and KD out(and Morrow, Lamb, Jackson), he is showing it, has 19 points with 8 minutes left in the 3rd. The Thunder are isoing him like he’s Kevin Durant. I’m happy to see him shine even if it’s only for one game.
I think these injuries are going to help this team so much, because all of those young guys are going to get good experience and get to work on their game. Also maybe it’ll give Scott Brooks the confidence to play them in the playoffs.
But back to the 6’11", 235 pound Small Forward/Power Forward with the 7’2" wingspan and 40 inch vertical, we know he doesn’t have the killer instinct, but he has the talent, remember last year, he came out and had some good showings on defense, especially against Lebron while starting at the 2. Maybe he could become a swiss army knife for the Thunder on offense and defense being able to play 4 positions on the court. Excited for the guy, and excited for basketball.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantNo joke, Perry Jones is running point guard to end the 3rd quarter since Sebastian Telfair is the only point guard on the roster. So i’m sorry he can play 5 positions. A
Also Andre Roberson is a tremendous athlete, but he can dribble to save his life.

ropeParticipantFab Melo – Thanks for the morning chuckle. His main skill was getting clicks for ESPN.com when the link looked like it might be about Carmelo Anthony.

DondiJohnParticipantI hope to see more of him but the problem is, they dont have enough minutes for him especially when KD comes back. They have Perk,Ibaka,Adams,Collison at the 4 and 5 and stuck behind KD. The injury of KD is kinda a blessing for PJ3 because he can get minutes and if he consistently produces good numbers he might have a chance, more if Perk is traded.

Mr. HookShotParticipantThis is what happens when you give young talents the time to develop in a winning environment. He saw firsthand how to be an effective 6’11 wing player when looking at Durant… good for him! Now keep it up young fellow

Jr. ROXASParticipantHis jumper looks smoooooooooth. One thing I think he has to improve are counter moves when driving to the basket, like spin moves or hop steps. Too often he drives to the basket and forces a very contested layup/ floater. Of course, it’s always better if he goes up strong and dunks it given he’s 6’11..

chaParticipantWhere has this been? I have been a huge fan since his senior year and that hoopsmixtape of his just something unbelievable. To think, a 6’11 Forward with a guard’s game? I see a bit of T-Mac and Webber in him. I just wish he’d go to the Suns for two reasons: he has an oppurtunity to be something special over there (be the go-to guy) and also to achieve success with a lot of young and talented players. Plus, going to PHX would cancel out any qualms about his health issues. Gentlemen, we are all familiar with what the Suns’ medical staff has done for so many of our all stars: see Hill, Nash and Stoudemire. It’s no coincidence that Nash and STAT couldn’t stay healthy once they left the dessert.

Memphisboy14ParticipantCool to see him have a good game. It’s crazy how if you had asked me 5 years ago who would be the 1st pick in the 2011 NBA Draft I would have said Perry Jones III in a heartbeat. At least he went to a team where he could develop his game instead of being rushed into a role he wasn’t ready for.
Obviously this is just 1 game so I can’t say this is a sign of things to come but the opportunity is there now that both Durant and Westbrook are gonna be out for extended periods of time.
