Yeah I agree, he looks like a top 5 pick right now although Prairie View isn’t the greatest competition.

Quincy is out with an ankle injury, i dont think its that serious.

Quincy Acy is one of the most underrated players in the nation IMO.  He reminds me a bit of a poor man’s K-Mart.

Perry Jones is one the best prospect in the Draft…I just wish my Sixers can get him at a discount…I’d love to move up to draft him…I see nhim making a huge Impact in THE NBA…Acy is a great shot blocker and dunker, he’ll get a look by some of the Contenders late in the 1st or 2nd round…

I like Acy too. But the fact that he’s undersized for a PF at 6’6 will I think give him a second round pick at best

Yea he is undersized.  But the thing is, he is ferocious and he dunks everything that he can instead of going up soft.   When you bring that much athletic ability and timing to the table, I’ll take the undersized forward.  His attitude is what would attract me the most as a GM.

He plays with a chip on his shoulder.  No weak stuff in here mentality.

Jones finished with 27 points on 10/14 shooting and 0 3p attempts which is encouraging. As good as Miller has been, this game has served as a reminder of who the best player on Baylor is.

If the two of them can mesh and provide an inside-outside scoring threat Baylor could be a chance to cut down the nets in March. Stranger things have happened.

Quincy Acy will dunk the ball and try to rip the rim off too. I like that. He’s plays hard and is an explosive leaper. He’s like 6’6, but he plays with energy and is competitive, and he has like a 7’2 wingspan.

Perry Jones is gonna be in for an All-America season. He’s putting it together and that’s a good sign, now if Baylor’s guards can get him the touches he needs consistently it will be great

He’s going to be the best player from This Draft IMO…I feel like it’s two dog for # 1and that’s Anthony Davis Vs. Perry Jones III…Drummond will also jump into that conversation…I was hoping Perry could fly under the Radar,simply because I was hoping My Sixers could draft him in 2012…I see now that may not be happening unless we jump in the Top 5 somehow…

He can score in the paint and on the perimeter, he can finish and handle the ball a little bit…He’s a crazy leaper but he’s not all over the place, he’s contained, people can call it coasting if they want to…He’s a very intriging prospect because he could go a lot of different ways…If he plays like he’s 6’10/6’11 and puts himself into that "I’m going to be the best player I can Be" mindset, he’ll be AMAZING…If he gets into this "I’m going to try to shoot 3’s and get a highlight dunk every game" he could become a Donta Greene type of let down…he will come to that bridge in his early develope as a player…He needs to focus on Winning his matchup and securing the W, because with Wins will come respect, he’s already on everyone’s NBA DRAFT RADAR…he’s been on mines for quite sometime now….Top 3 sure fire Pick IMO…

i think Jones should come into 3men conversasion Drummon him and Davis could be not only three crazy potential guys but even the best prospects overall no matter how good Harrison or Jared are..

 

and Perry he needs only to show "some" slashes of being leader so today it’s only one game but he DEFINITELY showed it..and i need no more as a prospect he could very well be the #1 and i still have to wait at least five consistent games but top5 starts to be locked from day one

If he is the same player he was last year, I can see him taking a serious slide ( I didn’t watch the PVA&M game) because he is such a good prospect because of what he could develop into.  If he didn’t make much progress I could see him dropping to the late lotto.

However, if he took some good strides he could easily be top 5.  From what I hear, he’s a good kid and a hard worker so I expect big things from Perry this year.

Thought he was the best prospect in college last year. Offensivly he is a beast but I’m not ready to put him in the converstation with Anthony Davis yet. Davis is head and shoulders above the rest right now and it ain’t even close. I think the converstation starts at #2 with Jones and Barnes.

If he continues progress in developing his SF skills he is a Top 3 pick regardlessly. He is 6’11 240 pounds making one legged fadeaway jumpshots, extremely quick long and agile for his size too. One thing that stresses me out about Jones is his defense. He really needs to step it up in those regards because he should be getting 3steals and 3blocks every game.

I’d like to see him make more impact defensively and more effort and focus on that side of the ball. We all know how good his offensive skillset is at his height. With his athleticism and length he should be blocking more shots.

Unless he gets injured, Perry Jones will be a Top 5 pick if he decides to come out..NBA teams & Scouts crave players like him ..That have that incredible explosiveness and athleticism…They’ll take Perry’s upside over Sullinger’s nba ready game..

In high school he was more of a playmaker,thats where those T-Mac comparisions came from….But at Baylor they’re trying to get him to play more in the post and he’s trying to do the right thing and fit in..And in a way,it has affected his game..But i think them having him in the post,will help him at the next level….

FWIW, I didn’t say anything on this in the beginning, but I have been off the Perry Jones bandwagon since early 2011.

I don’t think any of us counted on how dominant a personality Pierre Jackson was, and how meek Jones would be. One of the problems with college ball is that you get a lot of undersized guards who have huge personalities because they had to really struggle to make it as basketball players. So these enormous athletes who had the game come so easily to them in high school just sort of fall in line behind the alpha personality.

Similar thing happened in UConn with Napier/Boatright. Really, you see that with the Orlando Magic and Jameer Nelson too, because Nelson plays with such a chip on his shoulder that he often takes bad shots instead of just feeding Dwight.

Oh and of course, our most recent example is the Love and Barea argument.

 jameer used to be one of my top underrated PGs, the dude is clutch. but this year he’s been struggling, matter fact, he was averaging career low in ppg coming into the last orl-mia game 8.4ppg (when orl won) where he played really good. he JUST cracked 10ppg.

i think that’s very true omphalus. also, to support your point, how many of those lanky "new era" SFs (think durant, etc) have a problem with, for lack of a better word, "work ethic", not exactly off the court either. idk what the word im looking for is but they lack "fiesty-ness", for example, pj3, quincy miller, jeremy lamb (sf capable), anthony randolph, klay thompson imo, austin daye etc.

plus, aren’t for the most part, undersized bigs mostly always hustle players. haslem, manimal (lol cant believe i thought of him 2nd), um… kevin jones, joel anthony (is a pf), kevin love, barkley, rodman,  etc

but all of the others are undersized tough guys (chuck hayes, reggie evans, leon powe; danny fortson…) : that’s rather easy to explain afterall if you’re big you can make your way into professional bball but if you’re not you have to bring something else : toughness, winning mentality, rebounding abilities
