anthony_DavIS23ParticipantIf the pelicans could get their hands on Andre Iguodala they could be a lock for the playoffs next year.
He just declined his option with the Nuggets, whats the chances he joins the pels next year?0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/28/2013 - 10:47pm #809129
khaled_a_dParticipantWell,I think Iggy just like many FAs will go for the highest bidder ,Pelicans can be an interesting possibility ,he already knows Jrue and with Davis & Gordon they already have the pieces to be very good team

XYRYXParticipantFirst of all I hope he stays in Denver. Liked him a lot with this team but all the changes in the front office my want him to leave. I really like the idea of him joining the Pistons. They have the cap space and his point forward skills could really help Knight and KCP.
Now with Holiday on board the Pelicans really can make some noise when they add one more piece at the wing too. Wouldn’t be a bad choice too.

tdigiParticipantThere’s no way Davis starts at the 5 unless there are major injuries to every Centre on the team. He’s 6’10 220 which is slight even for a power forward. I agree that’s their top 5 players but Lopez starts and Anderson comes off the bench.

tdigiParticipantWho on earth disagrees with this. I’m not making it up that AD is a 6’10 220 pound PF.
So should Ibaka play Centre because he can block shots?
The Hornets played Jason Smith at Centre over AD any time Lopez went off the floor but all of a sudden they’re gonna start AD at Centre the entire year. So clever0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/29/2013 - 4:09pm #809628

IndianaBasketballParticipantIguodala’s price tag will be too high.
The Pelicans don’t need him. Just need a quality small forward who can play D and shoot the 3.
I think Corey Brewer would be a good fit, plus A LOT cheaper.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI don’t understand the logic behind saying one of the worse teams in the league last year with a gaping hole at SF wouldn’t need an All Star Olympian SF in there prime whose both a proven winner and possibly the best wing defender in the league.
With Iggy the Pels would then have a player who can dominate a game with his perimeter defense and a player who could dominate a game with his post defense in Davis.
Iggy is actually exactly what the Pelicans need and would pair with Davis to form an intimidating forward tandem.

IndianaBasketballParticipantSimilar to the Kings, it’ll take a damn near maximum deal to get Andre Iguodala to the Pelicans.
He’s a very good player, but he’s just not worth that much money at this point IMO.

tdigiParticipantNew Orleans have 5 quality starters, unfortunately none of those 5 are a small forward or Centre. The Holiday trade is a sign the Pelicans are making their playoff push. A holiday-Davis-Gordon trio is a terrific foundation to build a team around and luckily for them AD is on his rookie contract and holiday is on a great contract for 4 years.
If New Orleans is really making their push towards a contending team, they will go after some quality players to start at the 3 & 5 spots. Pekovic, iguodala, Al Jefferson, Bynum, even Dwight Howard (however if we know Howard then NO isn’t one of his destinations even though they have the best potential future).
The pelicans can offer max or close to max contracts over 4 years to any of these guys without landing them in the luxury tax territory because of the great contracts of AD and Holiday.
Will be interesting to see what happens there.0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/29/2013 - 3:35pm #809610
