MondogreenParticipantI was just curious to get the perspective of some Portlanders on this one.
I thought Mills could be a special player, maybe the steal of the second round in the vein of Chalmers last year. Without him, reverting to Blake seems like a shame. He’s an extremely efficient player and I don’t think he was to blame for the Blazers fizzling out last year, but he doesn’t strike me as a championship point guard. Bayless, who’s raw but clearly has sky high potential, seems like too much of a combo guard to command an offense, and I really like Rudy Fernandez but he’s like a Delonte West without a Mo Williams.
Are ya’ll hoping for a trade, or do you think replacing Outlaw at the three would be a more effective move? God knows that team has plenty of players to trade away. Sebastian Telfair part two? Don’t worry, I’m only kidding.

gatorheelsParticipantI’m not a Portland fan but the team needs an upgrade at PG. This is the only way they are going to get deeper in the playoffs. They have to make a trade. I think the Blazers are OK at the SF spot for now. They can look at getting a better small forward next year if Batum doesn’t develop like they want.

JNixonParticipantBayless is in the situation that Frye was in, relatively speaking. He isnt a true PG, if he was he would obviously be their starter right now, because face it, Steve Blake will not get you a championship, or farther than the 2nd round as a starter. They should trade Bayless for an above average, young true PG (like Raymond Felton, through a sign and trade). There PG situation would be a lot better and he would be a decent fit with Charlotte.

sheltwon3ParticipantBayless is too young and talented for you to do that right now. Roy is a good enough passer that if Bayless can improve defense and playmaking then he could start. Also they really wanted turgolu so that they could start Bayless but that one fell through because Hedo’s wife liked Toronto.

JNixonParticipantLet him rot on the bench then, and his value will decrease. He doesnt look like a safe bet to get time, even if they let him play the 2, not with Roy AND Fernandez on the roster.
