I wasn’t impressed with Young this year so I don’t think this is a bad decision. Florida should have a solid frontcourt next season.

Sorry, I don’t think he’s going to make it to the NBA next year either, he hasn’t gotten much better from the past year, he’s great for college tho. D-League or Europe….or NFL

Idk if I have ever seen a bigger, more athletic person do so little on a basketball court. Yea he’s 6’9″ and jacked, but have you ever seen him pull off a post move? How about grab a real tough board that only someone who is athletic and 250 lbs could get? He’s got physical tools but all that’s translated to is 10 points and 6 rebounds a game…

It seems like a no brainer for him to stay in college. Young is still a good basketball player on the college level plus he gets to hang out in college, but he certainly wouldn’t make the NBA next year..if he came out he might not even be drafted. He should get his degree and enjoy an overseas or D League career once he graduates if that’s what he wants.

Florida’s gonna need him next yr, otherwise they look like they’re going to have a down yr. IMO he needs to lay off the weights a bit. Looks like he spends more time in the weight room than he does working on his individual skills. He’s built like a body builder, not a basketball player. He should be doing more coordination (like Olynyk did this past summer) and flexibility training so he’s less stiff and so it can open up his range of motion.

    If he cant catch the ball and be a Tight End, he;ll be placed at Defensive End… That’s my guess

      How many basketball players have made that transition? Can’t really count Peppers since he was already playing football in college.

Pat Young absolutely loves playing basketball for FL and living on campus. He’s very focused on the team, school and would stay at Florida for the next 10 years if it was possible.
